Dravid 90-10 for me.

He values his wicket as much as he values his life. He builds it beautifully in the test format.

As per the ODI game, he's always been a fantastic player, just going through a lean phase at the moment. If you rewind a couple of years back, he was consistently scoring those quiet 50s, 60's and 70's to keep the innings together.

Over 10,000 runs and an average of 40 doesn't match up with a decent batsman.

Yousuf is much more than a average batsman, at the moment their records are much more similar. They average the same in tests, Dravid has played 42 more tests and only has 2 more centuries than Yousuf. When its all said and done I think that Yousuf will end up the better Test player. I don't understand how so many people are underrating Yousufs record so far and his performance for Pakistan maybe its the large number of Indian fans in here or maybe I am overrating him.

In ODIs in my opinion Yousuf is a better batsman, he averages 5 more than Dravid and his strike rate is better too. Dravid has played 75 more matches and he already has 2 less centuries than Yousuf. Again I think that records show that Yousuf is the better batsman.

I have to agree, though I'll remember Dravid as boring and not very effective based on the match I saw him live (Boxing Day last year).
Yeah, I think Yousuf would probably be remembered as being more fun to watch, though that moment when Dravid scored a run and the crowd cheered and he raised his bat was in good humour. At times like that it seems his impressive resilience just stems from a love of being in the middle and if the runs come, that's nice too.

You've all got to remember that he's in some bad form. Don't judge his entire career on one blip!

Damn!

Dravids strike rate for last 18 months is 38. :rtfl now for great player thats poor even by Dravids standard. He would have loved it to be around 50.

well I made my predictions by the numbers, and the numbers show me that Yousuf is better. Dravid has good stats but Yousuf edges him out.

Last 18 months don't show his career or his domination in test matches over 1998-2004.
Everyone has bad time in cricket that doesn't make him bad player, mind you.

but in 20 years people wont look at this bip in dravids career,
they will look at his overall stats

and if yousuf has more runs and better average than dravid then he will be deemed a better batsman

I reckon Yousuf has only peaked as a cricketer after converting to Islam, which was very late in his career.

Why would that be? Not trying to bring religion into this...just curious.
