Yousuf has a century against every test playing nation apart from england

For me it has to be Yousuf
As always some will say whoever has the better stats against the best countries and in this case Yousuf still betters Dravid

Code:

Mohammad Yousuf 242 229 32 8081 141* 41.02 [B]74.40[/B] 12 54 52 - PAK/ASIA-XI

Both players are extremely similar. Almost have the same style of play. Very hard to compare, both start defensively, and then end up going run a ball in the end. Tough comparison. I guess it's just upto personal choice, and personally I would have them both on my team, but if I had to choose it would be Yousuf.

Both (Y). Ahah.
No it's really tight, because essentially their game is exactly the same, so neither has an extra attacking or defensive capability than the other.

Not necessarily, I think even here it's pretty close. Out of the top nations, Dravid is better against Australia, England, and Bangladesh; Yousuf is better against the Windies, Sri Lanka, an Safrica. Head to Head Dravid wins as he has a marginally better average. Overall it's tough, but I'd say Dravid in ODIs and Yousuf in Tests.

Oh my bad, just messed it up. Well Yousuf by a hair in terms of averages versus each country. Overall I'd still say that it's Dravid, but still it's very close in my opinion. I think in Tests its Yousuf.

I don`t think that Yousuf is ahead in tests , simply becausde I haven`t seen him get runs in Australia or against Australia for that matter whereas Dravid has played some of the best knocks in test cricket against Australia to pull India out of a deep hole in Adelaide 2004 and Kolkata 2001 .
Dravid had a phenomenal tour of England last time around, though Yousuf was successful, he could not help Pakistan avoid defeat in England in 06.

Some of his knocks in England in 2002 were when he came in to bat at 0/1 and had to sheperd India through. His innings of 148 at Headingley on a treacherous wicket helped lay the platform for a fine Indian win in 2002.
Anyone who had seen him bat on a minefield in Jamaica last year would realize his powers of determination and skill.
He was the only batsman from both sides (not even Lara) to score a fifty and he scored a fifty in both the innings of a very low scoring match.

Yousuf has only peaked in the last 2 years but Dravid has been the more consistent of the 2 in the long run.
Most of Yousufs big knocks have come in the recent years on some very very flat batting tracks.
I agree that Yousuf is a class act, but Dravid takes the cake for me in Tests.

`If you`d want someone to bat for your life, it has to be Dravid`- J.Langer

In ODIs, it is much closer and I`d go with Yousuf in ODIs.

That's interesting, though I slightly disagree. I think that in Tests, Yousuf's had a near Bradmanesque running (at least when he peaked last season.) I'll take that on Yousuf's recent tons were on flat tracks, nonetheless, I'd still take Dravid in ODIs.

^^I agree with that.

The strike rate of the batsmen is missing from the stats

I'd have Dravid in each form of the game because he isn't a lazy fielder. Judging them purely on batting however, i'd take ODI Dravid and Test Yousef.

Don't you think judging this on 3.69 runs per 100 balls is a bit clutching on straws?
