Players who deserve a chance at international level

India : Laxmi ratan Shukla, Ashoke Dinda, Ranadeb Bose Wridhiman saha and Abhisek Nayar

Australia : Shaun marsh, Luke Pombarch, Dave Hussey
Wriddhiman Saha?! On what basis should he get a chance ahead of Dhoni, Karthik or Parthiv?

Its scary to think how good Phil Hughes might become considering his age. And people think Australia have run out of young talent? 'lolz'

It's called the single-match-success strategy that is unfortunately professed by too many fans in India. These fans also believe in single-match-failure strategy.

Saha is class though. I didn't even see his fifty yesterday, but i've seen him before and he's good. His keeping is brilliant as well.

Manpreet Gony, Suresh Raina, Subramanium Badrinath, S Vidyut

Hes even more aggressive than Shaun as well. I don't think we're be doing a Tendulkar here though.
Gosh no. Besides, Shaun Marsh was himself a hugely rated junior who struggled when he made the first class side. It's generally those years between 19 and 23 that seem to be most telling for Australian cricketers.
However, a player of interest could very likely end up in the sleeveless guernsey quite early.

A large part of Mitch Marsh's rookie contract is demand for his skills; he might yet end up with a guernsey of another kind. To compete with AFL clubs, they have to offer a very early contract because if good enough, he could be drafted as early as 17.

There's also a short bio on Mitch Marsh at the bottom of the Australian domestic thread.

Vidyut - not yet. But Murali Vijay deserves a chance for the A team, after two sparkling seasons.

Nayar, Tiwary, Badri, Bose, Ojha etc. Another guy who has impressed me is Vikramjeet Malik, I don't know a lot about him, but in the Duleep trophy, he got some ridiculous inswing and his records are pretty good too. If only he got picked in one of the IPL teams....

India have played very few (if any?) India A and B matches since Sharad Pawar's arrival.

India A toured Africa recently in a tour which was highlighted by:
- Irfan Pathan's competitive cricket comeback.
- Badrinath and Parthiv Patel's outstanding four day form.
- Piyush Chawla's outstanding bowling in the FC portion of the tour (before missing the 50 over section - being called up to the ODI team).
- Praveen Kumar's superb all round 50 over performances.

South Africa also toured India later in 2007.

the player that is hugely overlooked is amit mishra

he would be an outstanding bowler in test matches, i expect him to be better than chawla (at least in tests) but i dont think the selectors will pick him

It really depends. I like the selections in our squad at the moment, though Dave Hussey was stiff not to replace Clarke ahead of Hodge.

I think Australia is rewarding domestic form/youth at the moment so no issues.
