Dave Hussey - Future Test Player?

well he has definitely served Notts a lot over the past few seasons and I feel he is relatively unlucky to not get selected yet! I just hope he won't be selected in his early 30s like his elder bro Michael!

Hes 30, so when else do you expect him to get picked?

well he could get picked because the retirement of Justin Langer and Damien Martyn. He can open the batting as well batting in the middle order

Nah, Mikey Clarke steps in for Martyn and Rogers or Jaques will step in for Langer.

So basically Hussey doesnt have much chance of getting in the side for years to come...

Good point, so there is a place for Mr Hussey after all...good job.

No, There isn't.

Hayden
Jaques/Rogers.
Ponting.
Michael Clarke.
Michael Hussey.
Shane Watson.
Adam Gilchrist.
Bowlers.

Originally Watson was supposed to be playing if you remember correctly, it was his injury that let Michael Clarke back in having been dropped. It depends entirely on whether they want to play Shane Watson at six as an All-Rounder of play a full fledged batsman at six, in which case, David Hussey would be in for a good shout as to having that position.

He should get in, he deserves it...but he can't have many years left in him.

Hodge is obviously in front of him in the pecking order, then several players with contracts. It'd probably take 3 injuries before Dave Hussey will be considered.

Thats a shame...hes a talented player, whos record looks fantastic and i dont see why hes being overlooked.

Well, in the ODI team, you've got Hodge and Jaques who have fantastic records, but rarely get games, but as has been the case for Hodge, when the opening is there, they are instant selections. Next, there are players like Voges and White whose age will help their cause.

In the Test team, even more names pop up. Symonds, Hodge and Watson seem to be battling for the same spot, in addition to the mystery of the second opener's spot, with Jaques and Rogers believed to be in contention, though Hodge or Hussey are outside chances as well.

Yeh, hes probably just unlucky to come from a country, so rich in talent.

Definitely deserves a shot but sadly if he can't crack the team in the next few years the selectors will probably by pass him altogether and look to younger players seeing as David is 30 already.
