The end of the world is nigh...or is it?

You are on a wind up. Mind you, Lewis Hamilton can do anything!

It's all irrelevant because part of the Sun dying includes engulfing and 'eating' the Earth. So talks of creating a 'Sun' would be pointless, because we'd have no planet to live on (in this Solar System).

I wouldn't say pointless. Frivolous yes, pointless no.

When you say "no life" Science starts to sound bad, like beginning of civilization, then development, Finally science comes in, and then everything is gone, wtf is the point.

I see what he's saying.

Thousands of years of 'primitivity' (if that's even a word) and finally we make technological advances and make improvements and such - and we get wiped out.

The development of civilisation has nothing to do with the Sun (eventually) running out of Hydrogen.

Don't forget, it's these same technological advances that could one day, possibly help us live on another planet. To quote a Led Zeppelin song, "Good Times Bad Times". (Guess who I am listening too ;))

No, I/he means that its unfortunate that the world will end so soon, just as we're making these advances.

Ah, now I understand. Complicated Science has been around for longer than people probably think. Romans and Greeks had it. 2,000 years ago, man has existed for roughly 30,000 years (iirc). In fact, I think you can go further back with complicated Science. I'm thinking of some of the Chinese Dynasty's, Mayans?

My senses tell me that whenever the humans are troubled, we seem to find a way out. It's human nature. Eventually someone will find a way out of this too.

Apart from that, the world could be destroyed any day, any minute, or any second. But we don't think about that, do we?

We aren't going to create a new sun (although I like the idea) because the Earth will be blown to pieces by then, we will eventually leave the planet on a massive ark or as I like to call it - ARCK. It will be a massive space ship containing all the best scientists in the world, world leaders, the best and fittest women and men (sexy people too) and a whole bunch of animals, hopefully every single species, plants too, they will take all the best stuff with them and move to a new planet, with a sun nearby and the planet they move to will have to be similar to earth, or as close to earths atmosphere.
The possibilities of finding such planet will not be hard for our future generations as technology and science progresses.
And the building of a massive spacecraft able to house millions of space travellers shouldn't be hard for them either. I'm talking like a billion years from now.

Would it be possible to build another planet?

I suppose it could be done. Look at the Death Star, that was a space station though and they lived inside. You would need a heap of oxygen bottles to power that thing and where would all the oxygen come from? Maybe scientists could make it or when we leave earth in the future they could suck all the oxygen from earth. (Think the movie SpeceBalls)

Nah, they should use Earth as a oxygen tank and everyone has one which is wireless so we can breath easy. :p
*For the dumb people out there this was a joke.

A scary thing I've been looking at www.21122012.com and they say on 21/12/2012 there will be a massive sun explosion and the flames could reach earth. Other scientists are saying we are waaaay overdue for a massive volcano eruption which could throw lava thousands of kms away. It is possible, a volcano erupted near Greece back in the early bc and it created a tidal wave which wiped out a whole civilisation on the island of Crete. It washed the whole island and wiped everything off it. The volcano threw lava as far as the nile river, it was that powerful. The other thing that is meant to happen on 21/12/2012 is that there will be a magnetic polar shift. What does this mean? Probably not much, we will probably never even notice.

Your link doesn't work.

After the St.Helens explosion, the pyroclastic cloud covered the whole earth. The 'Tsar Bomba' Nuclear test resulted with sound waves passing around the world 3 times.

No point worrying over something that you can't predict. You have a bigger chance of dying by driving your car or walking on the pavement, yet who doesn't do it?

Magnetic Polar Shifts
