Even if you ppl remove Mali, who is there to lead ?
Yunus doesnt want it and neither does Yousuf.

I suppose Butt was the vice-captain whole for 2007.What happened then ? Ditched last moment ?

Then don't.

You don't accept anyone's suggestions, do you? We're giving it thought, and it's not like PCB are going to listen to random people on the forums.

Shahid Afridi c sub (J Mubarak) b Jayasuriya 0

I was abit over the top saying, I'd not be a fan.

But it doesn't me a guy like you who doesn't know crap about stuff says Afridi should be the captain, who hasn't even done anything in the past 2/3 years against any good team, apart from Zimbabwe and with exceptions, against Sri Lanka.

He?s abit too aggressive to be the captain, I?d say he should only be part of the T20 team rather, played shocking today aswell.

Just because We lost to India doesn't mean that our captain is not good
because India is a strong team

yes.

yes.
And guess what...I would rather get out on the first ball than playing a selfish inning of 52 off 79. And scoring 125 and going back to the pavillion saying I am tired.

And I guessed it right...if Afridi didn't score anything, he was going to be blamed for the loss and thats exactly whats happening.

OMFG

Time to teach malik a lesson man. what in the world is 50 runs from 80 balls when the required run rate was 7.4. WTF. Pak always bat slowly and then realize at the end that they have to pick up the run rate. i was just pleased with tanvir and misbah. that sarfraz kid doesnt know how to play drives for real. Rao should get kicked out of the team, he sucks soooo much.

Misbah, younis, or butt for captaincy. even though butt got out for duck today and his batting in asia cup wasnt great at all, we all know what he is capable of.

Everybody should be blamed for today's loss vs Sri Lanka. The batsmen seemed more interested in ensuring that they raised their batting averages rather than winning the match for Pakistan. Now you're in a situation where you have to beat Bangladesh and India quite convincingly hoping that either India or Sri Lanka (one of them) doesn't win any of their remaining matches.

Pakistan’s bowling without the likings of Shoaib Akhtar and Muhammad Asif has not been up to the marks. They have showed they can win matches without their two stars. The bowling at the moment seems very ordinary, as the whole team has to rely on Umar Gul who is injured ATM. Sohail Tanvir, has showed he can be a asset to the team, but with some bowling partnership which Iftikhar Anjum sadly hasn’t provided.

While to the batting department, the main problem is there are a few players in team who haven’t done anything, for example Shahid Afridi, who’s been a waste of space in the One day to for long time now. His last highest score came against the Zimbabweans, beginning of the year. Getting away from the negative points it’s good to see Shoaib Malik opening with Salman Butt.

Iftikhar Anjum has been good against the South Africans at home taking 13 wickets throughout the ODI series, but was overshadowed by them loosing 2-3 to South Africans. Wahab Riaz, has showed that he isn’t a good enough bowler yet to play International Cricket.

Pakistan need to do some changes in their One Day line-up.

Azhar Ali has played brilliantly in Pakistan Domestic, Ages 23, he is a allrounder averaging 50.19 in 23 matches, highest score of 150. While he picked 13 wickets, averaging 34.

Asad Ali on other hand has played 27 first class matches, picking up 116 wickets, with a very impressive average of 22 this season, better then some of Pakistan’s current players such as Sohail Tanvir.

Yasir Arafat the kent player, IMO can be the future match winner for Pakistan, but needs to be a part of the ODI team, more often.

1. Salman Butt
2. Shoaib Malik (captain)
3. Younus Khan
4. Mohammad Yousuf
5. Misbah-ul-Haq (VC)
6. Azhar Ali
7. Sarfraz Ahmed +
8. Yasir Arafat
9. Asad Ali
10. Sohail Tavir
11. Umar Gul

12th man - Sahibzada Mohammad Shahid Khan Afridi ;)

Shut up, please, don't make me open my mouth.

^^ Again...I really think that you should rethink Afridi's place in the team as a bowler and not as a batsman.

yeah, very good bowler against Asian teams and kenya.

We have better bowlers and all-rounders in Our Domestic!!

But they don't have enough experience do they?? Nobody is good enough to get into the top 10 ODI bowlers...

Yeah, that’s just a stupid post, did anyone expect Muhammad Asif to be a world class bowler when he played really bad against Aussies in 2005?

Get over with Afridi, he isn’t a great player, nor a very special bowler. He hasn’t done anything brilliant to be admired for last 2/3 years. (as said above)

Or are you telling me that Pakistan doesn’t have any talent then a mindless slogger, or you expect a new player to reach the ICC ODI bowling rankings overnight?

for example: Did young Imran khan, when he first came get "experience" overnight too?

So you mean we get new unexperienced player in the team at a time when we already are in a bad situation??

Well if you're talking about Afridi, then you're "experienced" player isn't helping the situation much is he?

I?m talking about changes for the better, which is better then no changes for worse.

People say alot of bowlers are better than Afridi in domestic. Once they are brought in the team, they just screw up and then people stop whining about it saying Afridi is waay better than him and stuff. So please...first get a bowler better than him then talk.

didn't you bloody read my post above, or are you just acting like a Afridi fan ******.

Also, we havn't tried any new bowlers apart from Wahab Riaz and few other against Zimbabwe, although they did look impressive, some of them didn't even make the final XI for some odd reason.

Why would you want to say you're country's talent is screwed up (till some extent you are right, but we definetly have better players then Afridi, he isn't the best.)
