Wait - The topic is who should replace Malik, not how good Afridi is. My point is that we need an aggressive captain. Afridi fits into that category.
I'm saying that Afridi isn't an All-rounder like we would like him to be. The folks who are coaching the team should realize what he's capable of and utilize him properly.
Also we "fans" gotta learn quickly to support who we have. It's not the people in the bench or retired who can even make a difference, it's the players on the field. The people standing outside cannot win the game, the players playing can.

captain needs to be aggressive . .agressive here means brave enough to take decisions that are not bookish. must be innovative and with good cricketing mentality. .that includes leading the side well even when he is not performing well himself.
shoaib malik is not good captain material to be honest. selectors should take a courageous decision if it is like this for pakistan. respect for captain comes automatically when the results are positive.. .
for instance, ponting, dhoni. .they are not great all rounders. .but have a good cricketing aggressive mind. and they lead their side positively even when they are not performing well themselves.

All I'm saying is Afridi can be the captain, but he isn't a good enough PLAYER, with not enough SKILLS to lead the team, don't you think Malik needs some time?

Afridi is not a pure all-rounder. .though many consider him as all-rounder.
All-rounder is someone who has a lower bowling avg than batting avg. Afridi misses this by big margin.
