This is sort of a mix between the best upcoming bowler and batsmen threads, but allows you to name the eleven players that you believe will be the Test and ODi teams for your nation. I'll start with England, and the Test squad:

Alastair Cook (C)
Joe Denly
Ian Bell
Kevin Pietersen
Ravi Bopara
Samit Patel
Steve Davies (WK)
Adil Rashid
Stuart Broad
Tim Bresnan
James Anderson/Graeme Onions

I think that's a pretty cracking line-up tbh. You'd expect Pietersen to still be around in 5 years, and Ian Bell could have become a far more mature and consistent batsman in that time. You'd also expect Jimmy Anderson to have been ditched in 5 years if he hasn't become more consistent, and he will only be 31 in 5 years, so could be the Flintoff type consistent bowler in 5 years time. Rashid, Broad and Bresnan are also very useful with the bat as well, so there's plenty of batting, and also part-time bowling from Patel and Bopara.

I'd be more than happy to see that line-up for England in 5 years time, just proves that there's plenty of decent players knocking about the County system and they just need to be given a chance. As for an ODi team, I'd probably go for:

Joe Denly
Jonathan Trott
Kevin Pietersen (C)
Ravi Bopara
Dawid Malan
Samit Patel
Steve Davies (WK)
Adil Rashid
Stuart Broad
Tim Bresnan
James Anderson

Denly and Trott opening, then in place of Bell in the Test squad I went with Dawid Malan into the middle order. He's impressed me immensely everytime I've seen him, and he played very well in the Stanford 20/20 against England, and in the County games shown on Sky last season. Rest of the squad remains the same as the Test side, with the only difficult choice being captain, with me just going with KP.

Your turn now, who'd you go for for your country? and your opinion on my team?

Nah I reckon it will be still be Mahi.

Well, okay, after Mahi, I reckon Virat will carry the mantle.

Might be a bit of an early shout for Cobb but he's had a great start to his career and looks a good prospect. Harris will in there Im sure, great talent imo and England will pick him up early in his career. Despite being 18 his average of 26 for 44 wickets is a great start and is handy with the bat too which would bring our batting all the way down to ten.

Cba to do one for the ODI team Ill do one later :p

I have no idea why people are leaving Virat out, in 5 years time, he will be far superior than Yuvraj atleast (not all that far off even now, in my opinion).

Test:
1. Phil Jaques
2. Phil Hughes
3. Shane Watson
4. Michael Clarke (c)
5. Luke Pomersbach
6. Moises Henriques/Cameron White
7. Tim Paine/Luke Ronchi (wk)
8. Steven Smith
9. Mitchell Johnson
10. Ben Hilfenhaus
11. Peter Siddle

Callum Ferguson and Shaun Marsh might get a shot in the top 6 too.

Young Josh Hazlewood might be ready to bowl too, but he'll still be only 22 or 23 in 5 years time - too early for Australian selection. Another young pace bowler with potential is James Pattinson (yes, Darren's brother).

ODI and Twenty20 will be pretty similar except at the top, where David Warner and Shaun Marsh or even Luke Ronchi might get the opening spots. You might go a finger spinner too like Hauritz/Cullen, Aaron Heal or Xavier Doherty or maybe John Hastings from Victoria instead of Steven Smith.

I don't know if my nation will even play cricket in 5 years

Sadly thats true!

Here is my team for India

Test
G Gambhir
V Sehwag
C Pujara
V Kohli
S Raina
M Tiwary
MS Dhoni
H Singh
Rajesh Pawar/T Yomahesh
S Sreesanth
I Sharma

ODI
G Gambhir
V Sehwag
S Raina
V Kohli
Y Singh
MS Dhoni
M Tiwary/I Pathan
R Jadeja
H Singh
T Yomahesh
I Sharma

I believe Virat has it in him to captain India after Dhoni. Yomahesh is an exciting talent and I feel he will be India's next big thing in fast bowling (he did well in IPL even though he was not flattering since it was his first taste of T20, and he went improving as each game passed by).
