And they will. Cook is just in the Stanford squad to give him the possibility of winning a huge amount of money to stop him perhaps thinking he could earn greater financial stability than he already has by playing in the IPL. The squad is more of an exercise in trying to prevent our best players running to the IPL.

Although why Cook needs any more money I have no idea. I play with a guy at my club who recently made his debut for Essex's Championship side, and he's roomed with Cook for a while and he says he has his power paided for, his cars, his clothes, his gas etc. He has almost everything paid for him, while he still earns 80k a year on top of that, from England alone.
