It happened in the final of the RBS Twenty20 Cup in the match Sialkot v Lahore Eagles. Imran Nazir scores his fifty of 14 balls. He also has scored two more fifties and was eventually the leading runscorer: Cricinfo - Records - Royal Bank of Scotland Twenty-20 Cup, 2009 - Most runs

Doesn't he deserve to come back to play for Pakistan or not?

Bulletin: Cricinfo - Abbas and Nazir help Sialkot retain title
Scorecard: Cricinfo - Final: Lahore Lions v Sialkot Stallions at Lahore, May 29, 2009

Any good bowling attack will easily figure him out, look what South Africa did to him in 2007.

Scores of 16 off 10, 2 off 13, and 17 off 14.

And then against India in the solitary ODI he played in 2007 (Akmal opened for most of that series), he gets 20 off 40 balls.

Honestly, not good enough. His 2 ODI 100s have come against Zimbabwe, and has only an average of 24.77.

However, beyond that, it seems everytime he is scoring runs, he has a need for a runner. Pakistan v Sri Lanka at Abu Dhabi in 2007, he was scoring quickly, he requires a runner. Pakistan v Australia at the T20 WC, he again needs a runner. Pakistan v New Zealand, he again needs a runner. Pakistan v India in the final, he asks for a runner, and is denied by the umpires (rightfully)

And then during this innings, he again needed a runner.

It really doesn't make much sense IMO, as to why he would need a runner, after facing about 15-20 balls in all those innings (sometimes less), when he is able to hit the shots that he plays.

Regarding the ICL issue, the PCB must be consistent. If they are allowing Yousuf and Razzaq as possible selections for the selection commitee, the other ICLers must be given the chance to produce their NOCs and be allowed to be considered for selection.

Uh.

He reached his half-century - off 17 deliveries, joint fifth-fastest in Twenty20s - as early as the first ball of the fifth over with a six over long-off.

Hurr. You do realise that the date of his 14 ball fifty was 26/04/2005, right?

Are RBS big in Pakistan?
Yes, they bought out ABN-AMRO, which was the previous sponsor of Pakistan Domestic Cricket for who knows how many years, so naturally RBS continued that relationship with the PCB.

As far as I know, RBS is still continuing to add on more branches in Pakistan including all the ones that it got when RBS bought out ABN-AMRO, so it is pretty big.

He has done same 14 ball feat in ICL but that wont count.

Imran Nazir may be a good T20 player but that guy has always thrown away the chances he has got with this team. And to add to that, he is always carrying that groin injury. Naah we do not need imran farhat/imran nazir/yasir hamid.

Imran Nazir is one of the most worst opening batsmen(as his record reflects) to ever play for Pakistan & doesn't deserve to be in the team. He's a no man's Afridi with slightly different technique.

:banana2 Imran Nazir rocks. My favorite Pakistani batsman after Inzy in the last decade.

Oh please, please, please bring him in for the T20s and ODIs. He is eons better than that scum bag Salman Butt of all Jokes. Atleast when not playing India.
:hpraise:hpraise:hpraise

I am sure Imran Nazir is going to be the next Sehwag as far as Pakistan is concerned. :upray

Imran Nazir is one of the best T20 player available for Pakistan. If he still don't a get a place which he deserves that will end up with huge loss and less batting power in the team.

He can hit the ball alright. But his shot selection on occasions is somewhat reckless. I remember when RP Singh bowler a yorker on leg stump in T20 WC and he tried to slog sweep over cow corner and had his stumps dismantled. I've seen it on numerous occasions.

If he improves that, he could be a fine player.

Salman Butt Fielding was crap against South Africa but he made up for it when he saved a six.
But we need Imran Nazir for T20s
