Review Playtest Review/Preview(Review Links, Updated in First Post)

lol , thats funny :p
be careful of the remote(your attempted beamer :D) landing on your HD TV if thats the case !

anyway it will be fun playing on the wii
i dont have any of these consoles and is stuck with my PC.hope it holds the game.

i guess we'll be getting some info day after tomorrow (8th july)

:cheers guys

1. How is the ball physic? Does the ball bounce accordingly on the field as real life? or does the ball still bounce and keeps flying towards the boundry.

2. How are the camera angle's? are they different from what they were in BLIC07 and 05? are they more like real life as seen on tv or they still similar to BLIC07?

thank you guys.

I think we have more chance of winning the Ashes than this game being anything other than a let down. :p

I don't know, Gas. I really think this will be the one. Let's just hope we don't all come crashing down as soon as we play the demo. Speaking of which, it is imperative the demo has options to set the difficulty to whatever we can do in the main game, so we can see what the game's like on all difficulty levels. It would be a shame if the demo came out locked to Village or something and we were disappointed because we could hit the bowling to all parts. I hope someone at Transmissions read this post.

Chances are that will be correct GAS, but the hope is the game will match up and we will all stay......as much chance of that as there is of the Poms winning the Ashes :)

Really? You no longer have Warne, McGrath, Langer, Hayden and many others. Your bowling attack is really struggling: for the first time, we have the advantage with spin, indeed with bowling overall and to top it off, there's a chance Brett Lee won't be fit for any of the matches. All we had to do is play Harmison! He was completely dominating Hughes, I don't understand why we didn't pick him unless the pitch wouldn't suit him?

By the sounds of it, the ball's bounce is a bit tennis ball like, but that should be easily fixed. For PC version, at least. :p

that was the part i hated about 07... bowl on a good length and it would always bounce over... and any length that would go on to hit the stumps would be driven... well almost all anyway

Thaanks guys for the reviews....

Is there a save option for replays?

Is there a highlights option involving all main incidents?

Will the defensive shots be beaten by the moving/turning balls occassionally?

Does the player stats get updated after each game?

the thing i hated about ea crick07 was that whenever i swung ball near the foot of batsman, there were 90% chances for batsman of getting bowled out.
what i mean to say is that every previous edition cric games had those balls for which no batsman had any answer.
i hope that ashes 09 will have a good quality bowling standards.

@Lazy Chestnut: How long would it take them to fix the bounce problem? Do you reckon there's a chance they'll do it?

OK, Codies/Transmissons, I've got so much faith in your game that I've even changed my avatar. Don't let me down!

Quick question for those who PLAY TESTED, was the game dual shock compatible?
cheers

Yes, on the PS3 you can use the PS3 controller. No it doesn't use the PS3 motion features and I don't remember any rumble.

Anyone know if we'll be able to use those controller attachments for the PC version?

cheers Matt, not a big deal about no rumble, although I cant imagine why they did not implement it, surly cannot be that hard to make a little vibration when ball hits willow

The Xbox 360 one for PC or a similar sort of pad should do the same thing. Considering how they have used nearly every button (the D-pad is the only redundant control) you'll probably have problems with other pads.

The other PC controls will be a keyboard only thing, but didn't get a chance to actually try them. You'd best be to get a compatible controller.

Controls aren't customisable unfortunately.

The thing is gamers are never happy. People say Ashes cricket game 2010/11 will be perfect and all that but it won't because you will always demand better. Just look at Fifa 09 and people go on like it's the worst game ever made.

Just needed to put some light into peoples minds.

From what one of the developers just mentioned on my profile, it is there, just I played the PS3 version on the old SIXAXIS without rumble.
