Pros-
1. Huge Exposure to Indian talent and the U19s with a "ONE U19 player in the Playing 11 compulsorily" rule.
2. Exciting Stage for International talent to showcase their skills.
3. Great playground for breeding new ideas and the Indian public seems hooked to it.
4. Generates a lot of moolah for the Board & the country.
5. Players are payed twice or thrice the amount for 7 weeks than what they would make playing for their country.
6. Most have issues with IPL, but yet they watch it. This is a proxy victory for the IPL.
7. Reaching out to new countries every year through a new form of cricket called "
cricketainment".
8. Tie-up with Youtube is a great way at reaching out to the working pro, who form a lucrative untapped viewer-base.
9. Unites players across nationalities and forms DREAM-TEAMS.
10. Massive wake-up call to cricket boards around the world & the best thing to happen to (Indian) cricket.
Cons-
1. Ad-hungry MAX network (although its been better this yr).
2. Some Stupid commentators.
3. Overbranding.
4. Lack of a darn window (its not exactly the IPL's lookout though as the ICC has to take the call).
5. Not the IPL's fault but the players are retiring from longer formats to sustain themselves in the lucrative short form (give it a window).
6. On a lighter note, not all cheerleaders are as hot as DC's.

The "4 international player restriction" rule is ridiculous, the IPL should have never been allowed to be created with such a rule & biased towards the Indian audience.
Its an Indian league, you know :sarcasm
Since the IPL potentially can not only cause player burn-out in 5-10 years. But its threatening the future of test cricket.
Give it a darn window and ask the IPL to fit all the matches in it, let there be 8 teams or 18.
One criticism with the new edition is the display of a video AD inbetween overs right in the middle of the stadium. What the heck is this? For the TV viewer, the AD is shown which is played on the giant screen. Does it mean that the play doesnt go while the AD is played? Someone said about this nuisance in another IPL thread too.
Whosoever came up with this idea is a sick, greedy genius. Agreed, its a nuisance.
But hey, it comes just once in 2 overs (yes, I've been counting) and it isn't that bad
