IPL IPL Criticisms

Then they have to find a different slot in the year for the IPL. Pitches in India are at its best during the summer season, and the IPL (which is just a domestic competitin that stalls all international cricket in India) is wasting that period of time when we can have good and exciting international matches in India. The Aussies, England, SA, etc should come and play in India in May-June (when its at its hottest). Thats the real home advantage. Pitches will also crack up faster and give more turn. Curators also have a far better chance of preparing good lively pitches (most often, rain/dew spoils their preparation).

This is the only time Indian cricketers have a break. It is the end of the Indian cricketing season.

What about Ashes years though in England. No way anyone from Aus/Eng would ever skip the Ashes

It cant be played in that period at all even in non Ashes years.

India unlike most nations can play cricket from Septemeber to April. England, AUS, WI for example have one set international cricket season. No way should they adjust to suite the IPL.

June-July

You want to burn players to death. :noway

Well anyways this IPL3 is not as popular as IPL 1. I predict demise in next 4-5 years.

Novelty has worn of for me already and there is sooo many more games :facepalm

Consistent 200+ scores make for agricultural slogging and is just not fun to watch. Seriously why would any young child ever want to become a bowler in todays world?

Money talks.

might even be earlier with modi going down.

Would be happy to see the IPL going down completely. Cricket as a whole will be benefitted. Less burnout, more concentration on the main cricket, etc.

The IPL is just over-corperatised sewage. The repulsive advertising and commentary literally make it unwatchable, despite the cricketers putting on an awesome show of skill.

MRF Blimp (why the F would you wanna see a blimp in a cricket match?), too many matches (overkill and people lose interest in the middle), Time-outs, between over ads, tired/f*** up commentators, tired pitches as the tournament progresses, captains taking way too long to set their fields/slow over-rates, players getting injured badly. Really T20 has made people all over the world so dumb and blind that they spend their bucks to go out there and watch all these boring and dead matches which don't even matter to the players themselves until the final stages.

The IPL should and hopefully die/get shortened in the next couple of years, come on the viewers are also tired of it. It's just too painful for the eyes and the brains, another problem is that it is so tough to ignore as well with all the hype surrounding it.

First of all thats not even a blimp, its just a big balloon. A blimp is piloted and can fly around, really pathetic how they are trying to copy American sports just to copy them. What the fearsome tweak is the point of a having a balloon shaped like a blimp? At least over here when we have a blimp its a real blimp and flies around and provides aerial shots.

PATHETIC

What about the Betfair blimp during Ashes? I think that was also a balloon :p

Another annoying part about these T20/IPL matches are the trumpet music (TA TA TA TA TA taaaaaaaaaa, whatever it is). I think it started from the 2nd season in SA, it just gives me headache.

IPL should be played in June-July

IPL should be reduced to 20-30 days. They should learn "How to set fixtures" from England.
