oo Chennnaaaaaaaaaiiiii! :D

great win, great composure.

Congrats Rohit.

Thank you, thank you very much.

Finally CSK manage to pull it off. Feels good, but what I am going to miss checking in on IPL scores in school...

We did it boys!! WE FINALLY DID IT!!! I thought this season we won it because some of our local boys like Vijay, Ashwin and Badrinath came to the party. We didnt miss Hayden's poor form or Dhoni's patchy form. Suresh Raina has been a superstar for Chennai and hope he stays back with us. Dhoni from his presentation speech has hinted that he wants to remain with Chennai (YIPPIE MAHI, WE LUV U!). I dont see Hayden continuing with Chennai (I think he will even retire from IPL). Wish to see Vijay, Dhoni, Raina and Ashwin retained as the Indian players and Bollinger/Morkel retained as the overseas players.

Celebration time for all Chennai supporters! People didnt want us to win and never even considered us to be a force. It feels so good to see all those fellows being forced to shut their mouths and not open it anymore. Probably the least liked team of the IPL (probably because the India's chief selector is from Chennai and is believed to support Tamil players in the national side; probably because Dhoni is the captain of the side)

Cant understand why Pollard was sent in that late. Led some to think of another fixing episode:facepalm . And why did Sachin say during the presentation that Pollard came in too late? Wasnt it his decision? Who else is taking it then if Sachin is not?

Congrats Rohit.

There are other Chennai supporters here to congragulate too:p:D just kidding...

Chennai should thank Oram and his injury which led them to bring on Doug Bollinger. And what a star he turned out for us!!! Absolutely brilliant. When Pollard hit him for 22 runs in that 48th over, I was worried. But still he has had a fantastic tournament and changed our fortunes completely.

Mumbai deserved to lose. Batting Pollard all the way down at #8.

Well i'm not surprised, Sachin is a very ordinary captain. He was terrible in his two stints as Indian captain so no reason why he would all of a sudden be good now. Even back then he made several blunders like this one tonight, if any of you guys saw his captaincy back then you know what i'm talking about, embarrassing stuff. Great batsman, awful captain.

Well done Chennai, but it couldve been very different had someone with half a brain put Pollard in even two overs earlier. Why pay so much for him and virtually not play him in his most desired match situation??? :facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm

Something tells me that it wasn't his call.

His captaincy was fantastic right through the IPL.

:banana2.

What an amazing match. Great final. What a comeback from Chennai after those first 10 overs when they were batting so slowly. I was really worried when Pollard went ballistic as well. He's a real talent.

Raina is such a beast. Love him now.

i always wanted chennai and mumbai to lose. but today, i wanted mumbai to lose.

Congrats Chennai. :clap

Yep what a combo - Dhoni and Fleming are probably the two coolest captains you'll ever see, and it has worked for Chennai having them put their heads together.

IT WASNT HIS CALL. He hinted at that during the post match presentation speech when he said Kieron Pollard came in too late for us. Sachin is someone who backs his decisions and if he had made the decision to send in Pollard that late, he would not have cited it as a reason for the team's defeat.

That is a rubbish argument. Is Sachin captain or what is he doing there ?What good is as a captain if he cant make decisions himself? Why would you want a captain that has no idea what he is doing. Sounds like a major leadership issue. Part of the reason he failed so badly when he was indian captain. People right here on this forum have hammered Mr Ponting for some of these reasons in the past with his captaincy, now the shoes is on the other foot.

No one said he was an excellent captain. That is why he wasn't given it after Dravid/Kumble, that is why he retired from the post and has denied the role multiple times afterward as well.

But, his captaincy in this IPL was indeed good. He utilized Harbhajan well, and kept Lasith in the bank for the death overs cunningly to choke the opposition at the death. I was very surprised at how well the team gelled under Tendulkar - he expects everyone to have the same attitude and commitment as he does and obviously that is not possible. But this time around, it was different I feel.

I back the Bhajji movie. I saw his 40-odd bitz win Mumbai a game. He has batted up the order at around 3 in many of these off beat tournaments (like the corporate cup) with success. Although yes, I feel Pollard SHOULD have come ahead of Duminy, they still had some comfort room to work with and I think Duminy should have been capable to perform under those situation (The RR was around 13RPO, and that is totally doable especially with only 4 overs left)

Sending Harbhajan up was not a bad move at all. Sending Pollard behind Tiwary and Duminy was bad. When Tiwary came in, they needed 12 odd runs per over to achieve which is hard in a T20 game. Had Pollard come in there, he would have made the required run rate easy and won the game for MI.

Yeh hain Chennai... Chennai Super Kings.......:banana2.

Celebrating for Mumbai's Lose, not Chennai's Victory;)
