Not sure if this should go into 'Cricket Discussion' but anyways posting here. Willow.tv, who have the official rights to the streaming of most international matches, have announced monthly subscription to their site. It costs $14.99 per month, and you should get most of the international matches that are streamed on Willow.tv through this subscription.

Sounds like an amazing plan. If this gets extended to Dish Network/DirecTV and if we can get a cricket channel on either of these providers for $15/month and watch all cricket in that package, it would be amazing. Even $20/month would be fine if we can get all cricket under the satellite provider and can watch it on standard definition TV. I will now unsubscribe from my current illegal provider (paying $10/month) and get this subscription.

Its got the Ashes!

Bought this last night :)

Finally, decent quality and no more Indian ads! I'll never go back to watching on Indian channels again. Not sure how you guys deal with those ads, 200 a minute and usually for "whitening" cream :laugh

Nope, skin whitening, I thought it was just a one off but almost every 3rd commercial is for "fairness cream" or skin whitening. Its quite sickening

What do you mean by "most"?

I mean, not all games might be available on Willow.tv. Certain games could go to ESPN360 or some other provider and Willow might not get access to it. But Willow.tv is the primary provider of 'most' international cricket and so for North American subscribers, this will be a boon.

I just hope they dont introduce the restriction as in 'Dish Network Zee Sports America' where you cant unsubscribe at anytime you want (you have to be subscribed for a year). I guess the illegal sites will now be forced to reduce their monthly price and close shop.

Now that they are providing it on monthly subscription, I fear that ads could come in so that they recover enough money for themselves and for paying off to the source providers.

I don't think Willow can put their own ads, anyways none so far. Will let you know if that changes.

The quality is notably improved on Willow though since the Ashes.

The feed is delayed compared to cricinfo commentary. It's delayed by exactly 1 ball! Its kind of fun to read the description then see the action unwind.

That should be OK. When the game goes on, I dont use Cricinfo and dont let anyone at home use it and tell me the scores.

Id say its damn close to SD television. Also full replays and highlights of all series and the interactive scorecard is awesome.

Very sweet deal.
