Call of Duty: Black Ops

They'll get em fixed. With a big game like this they should easily have the resources to fix any bugs.

The floating apple bug though looks like one they might struggle to fix though. :spy

lol that just looks like they were lazy.

Hopefully it gets patched soon though. I'd expect with so many people wanting to play the game properly it will.

I'm installing it at the moment :)

Has anyone looked at the campaign yet - does it look as though it's going to put up a fight, and not be over in five hours?

A couple of my friends who have played the campaign say it's awesome, as do most of the reputable game reviews.

I've heard it's around 6 hours this time.

Length depends on difficulty really. I've read places that say 9-10 hours.

Yeah, of course veteran will take atleast 10 hours.

But I doubt anyone would want to go through the pain of playing on veteran on their first playthrough. I would imagine people would play on regular.

Six hours is still not enough. These developers need to keep in mind the needs of Offline players as well. Not every one has got a super fast Internet connection you know.

Most people that game do, and a series like Call of Duty is no longer about the campaign like it once was, it's the multiplayer that sells millions.

I guess single player experience is only limited to RPGs like Fallout, Gothic, Fable and Two Worlds 2. Action Adventures are also good for Offliners. FPS is no more a Single player thing I guess.

There's no reason why you can't rent FPS games like Black Ops. There are always third-person shooters and action adventures as well.

Six hours - not enough, nowhere near it. When you think back to the original CoD games and the length of campaign you got, as well as solid multiplayer, it's just damned annoying. I mean, online is online is online is online - I took a long look at my nephew playing Black Ops and it just looks the same as MW2 to me - OK, the weapons are slightly older - big whoop. It's the campaign that really differentiates a game from its predecessor.

One other thing I'd say: if these guys are no longer interested in making a decent length campaign to satisfy singleplayers, or those who want something other than what the last game offered, why do they fill the adverts full of clips from the...wait for it....campaign? Eh? Eh? :mad

Still, at least they've got rid of 'quickscoping' now, although the PC version will no doubt have that crap modded back in. I like the idea that you have to dive forwards to go prone now as well, so that should negate dropshots a bit. The one thing in these games that really takes me right out of the experience is people hopping around like Mario. You're watching a clip of an online game and people are sneaking forwards - looks realistic and exciting. Then people open fire on them, and they're bouncing around like Mexican jumping beans - it completely ruins the immersive experience.

And zombies. You can't ever go wrong with zombies. :lol

Anyway, dedicated servers are back for the PC version now, aren't they? I might pick this one up at some point, but definitely not until it's come down in price a bit.

Edit: Yes, I know there are a few new modes - 'One in the Chamber' or whatever its called sounds like it will be fun - but I bet most players will stick to the old modes. ;)

Not on PC you can't.

You have a PS3, don't you? You can rent the game on that, it honestly won't kill you to not play a game on the PC.

One of the main things I hate about Call of Duty these days is it's always the same. This one is no exception, but a LOT of the noobiness has been taken out. Quickscoping is just the start.

Quickscoping was fun though, even if it was incredibly cheap.

Yep, that's what I hate. I also hate the fact that they still have the 'Halo style' regeneration - it's so unrealistic - surely they can think of something better after all this time? It even found its way into Mafia II, destroying any tension in that game. It would also slow the game down and stop people tearing around like maniacs if they had to be more careful about being shot.
