Spectating AI matches and some worrying AI findings

Yes it does. You can even set it to wear faster and it does have an effect on spin. I know this, because I was called on to bowl in a test match bowling on what could only be described as the moon landing site...

The only reason my (batsman) player was called on to bowl was because there was only one spinner in my side, so again the AI takes in account the match situation and the skills available to the captain.

Quite clever, really. Don't mind being a part-time spinner. I took 4 wickets too :thumbs

Yes in career mode you would get this but i was talking about the other modes i am not playing career mode till patch is released. Also rain in other modes has never happened, i think maybe it's not turned on.

Trying some players with one dot of skill now.

Warner - LBW Broad 7(15)

Huh? In other modes, you just set the pitch to age however fast or slow you like. It's literally a box you check.

...again, in "other modes" you turn it on or off. You set whether you want the chance of rain or not in the match set-up? If you're not getting it, it's because your match settings are wrong. I've barely touched the arcade mode quick match stuff, maybe about 6 games total and 2 of those were rain-reduced.

1st point thanks Biggs i will look at that.:thumbs

2nd point i have played maybe 10 tests as they are my number one go to in most cricket games and i also have a chance of rain and nothing in any of them.:spy

Change the cricket grounds you're playing at? I imagine that prolly has an effect... playing in places like NZ, England will be more rain-effected than other grounds? I'm not getting many rain-reduced matches in career mode playing in Australia, but I see the UK career mode folk are getting them?

Will do and thanks Biggs. I would love more options for custom this part outside of career mode for there next game.

Weather very hot/hot/normal/cold and very cold. and high chance of rain but not to high.;)

Some far better results, perhaps one dot is the standard for badly performing tail enders and may allow me to find some realistic levels for batsmen. Hopefully this will dismiss my fears about sliders not working. I will test more though. Aus v. Zim next

All one dot skill, default settings, legend skill, test match spectated.

Warner - lbw broad 7 (15)
Smith - c. Cook b.swann 0(1)
Johnson - lbw. Stokes 4(3)
Siddle - c. Root b.swann 4(6)
Harris - c.cook b.stokes 3(4)
Bailey - lbw b.stokes 4(6)

Haven't tried changing fielding. I'm quite happy with the balance to be honest, as long as Pietersen and Panyangara don't bat the same and these sliders all work, I can enjoy the amazing teams that have already been created.

Currently Zim are 19 for 4 against Australia, and if the Aussies hit runs, I think Ill relax.

Perhaps the default teams just don't have skill points well allocated

I really hope you get "expected" results with the Get Best teams... I'm holding off on downloading them because of the linking issue in career, but now with the career bug of season ending too soon I'm thinking about downloading get best and just doing other modes until the patch comes out.

Great work btw! Keep us posted.

From my own hands on experience having played quite a few t20s on VETERAN and PRO now and this also happens in TESTS.

The two last guys are always hard to get out and they put up a good stand quite often when the top order have failed miserably.

Even when batting i have had many times where the top order collapses and tailenders come in, all of a sudden i am smashing 20-40 off about 15 balls with guys that can hardly bat in real life.

This would also ring true with people saying fielders stay the same even when set to 0.

How do you go about setting zero or even 1 for fielding? I cant set any attributes below 11.

Any updates mate?

Zimbabwe 187 and 162
Australia 382

This is a realistic outcome for me. There were a couple of 20s from the one bar skilled tail, perhaps the sliders are a little poorly calibrated, nothing major though, for me this is a good outcome. There were four runouts in the match which I can live with.

I will try a T20 now with the same teams

Looks like they work just fine then... good if not unsurprising news.

You've played/watched cricket before, yeah? That um... generally speaking... happens quite a bit.
