Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul suspended; likely to miss remainder of Australia tour
http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/25734587/hardik-pandya-kl-rahul-suspended-pending-inquiry

Is the team getting a replacement for these two guys? Rahul's absence won't be a big blow, but Pandya's absence likely will be.

By the way - I respectfully disagree with those who say that this is over reaction. It's not! It's basically an exercise to make these players understand that their words are influencing a whole new generation and what they spoke on Koffee with Karan (the adult talk show; which they shouldn't have even gone to) is NOT ACCEPTABLE. And mainly, its their attitude while speaking all the tripe they spoke, is what causes people to boil. And the public who reacted on social media over this, just poured out their opinions. Obviously BCCI has found the noise too loud that they are forced to react over it.

Being outspoken is fine, but there are certain things that should not be spoken. Hardik Pandya crossed the line. I would say Rahul also did the same, but his 'quieter/introverted' style of talk made it seem like he might not have spoken as much.

You know what. This may not be a bad thing at all for India. With Hardik in the side, we always end up playing just 2 frontline seamers which might backfire in England. If Jadeja grabs hold of that all-rounders spot, with Kedar as the other part-time option, we can actually field 3 pacers.

Rohit
Shikhar/Mayank (tempted to go that way)
Kohli
Rayudu
Jadhav
Dhoni
Jadeja/Pandya/Pant
Bhuvi
Kuldeep
Shami
Bumrah

I do not agree with the idea of trying to phase out Shikhar Dhawan from ODI's and T20's. Yes, Mayank has been great in the two tests played, but Shikhar Dhawan is a extremely well settled player in ODI's and T20's for India and has been very consistent in the shorter formats at the top of the order. Dhawan, along with Rohit and Kohli, have almost made our middle order weak by not giving them enough chances to bat in ODI's and T20's. And we all know Dhawan's ICC tournament record in recent times.

It would be very stupid to think of dropping Dhawan from ODI's. I think India should play Jadeja more in ODI's and should not play both leggies together. It actually gives them variation and also strengthens their tail since Jadeja is a more than useful batsman lower down the order and a gun fielder. To me, only one of Kuldeep or Chahal should play at a time. If Pandya returns, he should be the third seamer and Jadeja should be the second spinner with either of Kuldeep/Chahal. The balance would be great in that case.

Rohit
Dhawan
Kohli
Rayudu/Karthik
Dhoni
Jadhav
Pandya
Jadeja
Bhuvi
Kuldeep/Chahal
Bumrah

Good start this for India, good to see the calmer more down to earth folks out in the middle in Dhoni, Bhuvi, Dinesh, Rohit, Shikhar. :clap[DOUBLEPOST=1547260563][/DOUBLEPOST]Feel really bad for Aaron Finch, he is a good player who has not got the team. Too much pressure on him to get things going.

Interesting decision to play Karthik ahead of Jadhav. I think with India playing 5 specialist bowlers and 2 spinners, they didn't think the need of Jadhav. Only worry is that Karthik shouldn't play slow here, especially if he bats after Rayudu and Dhoni. He needs to assume the aggressor role.

Most ODIs to 100 ODI wkts (India):
308 S Ganguly
268 S Tendulkar
266 Yuvraj
100 R Shastri
96 Bhuvneshwar Kumar
85 V Prasad/ R Jadeja

Boy! This came as a shocker to me .... thought Bhuvi had a better ODI record.

His avg is on the poor side because he is not a big wicket taker

Good to see Shami getting a chance in the ODI setup he has good a good strike rate 94 wickets in 50 odd matches. Sure he has goes for runs but does give breakthroughs in the middle overs so even if he is not in the playing 11 having him as backup option for the World Cup is good decision.

Possible bowling lineup in the World Cup.
Bhuvi
Bumrah
Shami/Khaleel
Kuldeep
Chahal

Plus the likes Siraj/Umesh or even a Shardul Thakur can be drafted in the squad if someone gets injured.

He is not a wicket taker but some one who creates chances by bowling some really tight lines. His economy is 4.97 which is fantastic in this day and age.

With Pandya out, India cannot play two wrist spinners in Chahal and Kuldeep and loose a batter. Jadeja will defnintely bowl well and if his batting clicks, it will be bye bye Pandya for sure.

Bad decision by Aussies to send Handscomb. It was perfectly set for Maxie to come out and play big.

What do you make of Bumrah's economy rate of 4.44 then?
Bumrah's ODI average is also 20.

20, with an economy rate of 4.44. Miles better than Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is not world-class

Bumrah is definitely a go in the ODI setup. He is just rested because of the ridiculous amount of work load he has had in 2018. He should take his place back in the team in place of Khaleel or Shami. If Bumrah is world class, Bhuvi is world class too. Both are different sets of bowlers who have been given different type of duty to perform for Team India.
