DK speaks as maturely as he bats, how you're on the field depends a lot on how you behave off the field. He should be playing the semi and final both at least for his experience. I won't rely on Pant/Pandya or even Jadhav to rescue us if there's a batting collapse.

I must congratulate Bangladesh here as well, What a fine journey they had in this WC. They should be awarded more test matches and ODIs in ICC future tour programs. The more they play cricket the better they would become. In the next World Cup in 2023, If Bangladesh shows up as one of the hot favorites to win WC? I won't be surprised

For Pakistan, just watched Mickey Arthur Press Conference. He has been good overall and If he continues and gets a New contract for another 2 years, that can be fine.

I don't have issues with Sarfraz's captaincy skills, but on batting form alone, he doesn't warrant inclusion in the XI. With Hafeez and Malik finally out of the picture it is the perfect chance for him to show some guts and move up the order. Haris at 4, Sarfraz at 5, Asif at 6. We need Asif desperately, the only guy who can go big at the death is Imad.
As for bowling, Wahab is 34, and although he wasn't bad in this tournament, i feel it's time to move on. He isn't gonna make it to 2023, but i'd keep him for the 2020 WT20. Hasan or Shinwari should come in for him, though the latter needs some time in domestic to get back in form. Junaid would be fine, but i feel he's been Alam'd. Hasnain needs polishing.
Apart from Wahab's inclusion (which turned out fine), we had a very stable lineup coming in to this tourney, and credit must be given to Inzi and Arthur for that, as well as Sarfraz. This leadership team should be persisted with, but Inzi should be incouraged to adopt a hands-off approach in terms of selecting the playing XI (unless the reporting about his involvement is false, which is very plausible). And for heaven's sake, hire Steve Rixon back, whatever it takes.
And yes, it's time for us to get off Imam's back, myself included, and accept that he deserves his spot in the team, just hope that he improves his SR, and his partner gains some form back.

Imam
Fakhar/Abid
Babar
Haris
Sarfraz
Asif
Imad
Shadab
Amir
Hasan/Shinwari/Junaid
Shaheen

Backups : Rizwan, Faheem, Saad Ali

So if we win todays match and Australia lose, we play NZ and Australia play England... and if Australia wins irrespective of our result.. we play England. Hoping for a cracker of semifinals

Pakistan ending on the winning note but I still would have liked for them to show intent for 400. Nonetheless, they did compensate for their past performances. If only had they shown such resilience during the first half.

I still think they missed a trick by not picking Junaid in their playing XI. The combo of Junaid and Amir would have been devastating. How he sits out is a mystery to me.

Exactly what I thought.

So we are into a trouble situation once again. On a batting beauty Sri Lanka has put us in the field first. If in case Sri Lanka gets 350+ and pitch to get slower. Horrible signs !!!!

Hopefully we don't put up a surprise bad performance all of a sudden

What's there to worry about? We have already qualified and the position in the top 4 shouldn't matter because you ought to be ready for any opposition.

In fact, better to have a horrible performance in this match and use it as a wake up call rather than let it happen in the knockouts.[DOUBLEPOST=1562405179][/DOUBLEPOST]Having said that, I'm fairly confident that India will win this. Kudos to SL if they don't.

Why would you ‘rest’ Shami who has only played half of the games that Bumrah has? This was the ideal time to rest him and even Kohli considering the risk of suspension. Looks like the good old habits of RTG are slowly crawling back. :D

On the other hand, this just confirms that Mayank is pretty much a ‘break glass in case of emergency’ selection for Rahul if the latter’s back problems got serious. It isn’t the worst thing to do given his inexperience, but this game would have been the ideal time to play him as the opener and have Rahul at 3 instead.
