tbh, the game could have been better. There are a lot of same features that have been extracted from Ashes Cricket 2017, it's just that the expectations fire up when the game gets good from previous versions.

However I do like to see people tend to explain it properly.

I have loads of game that could have been better.

I don’t even hardly play it any more. But it’s a game. I’ll probably play the next one and the next one.

My point being is the way people go over the top is ridiculous and probably why it’s met with sarcasm etc.

Life’s too short to be working yourself up over a game.

And they've probably said the same about the last game and the game before that. But, they still keep buying it, and then go on as though BA have a gun to their head making them buy it.

The point @fezza made was brutally honest and it wasn't ridiculous.

Like I said, you expect more when a new version of game comes out. But all I see from my gameplay of Cricket 2019 is, a new interface with same old mechanics.

I am not complaining but there was no rush in releasing the game.

The game plays far better than Ashes.. but that’s my opinion.

It has bad points for sure. But overall gameplay is better.

Just to be clear I have bought all the editions and hope people will keep buying future editions. Cricket needs support from the gaming industry.

In my line of work (writing for publication) we expect and welcome informed criticism and so should a gaming publisher. I simply pointed out that a game called Ashes cricket should model ball and pitch wear properly as this is a key part of first class cricket. I'm not sure unpleasant sarcasm was an appropriate response. If you disagree you are welcome to debate the point but let's stop the nonsense.

I am not sure I even dare say it but the other big issue is why the white ball swings so much. Just about every world cup bowler who was interviewed made the point it won't swing after two overs... in this game it swings like the red one, all the time on demand.

My point on this would be, as much as you are 100% correct, I’d say 85% maybe more of the people who have bought the game won’t care at all.

So it’s a big issue for you. But in the grand scheme of things. Very very minor

Its because every bowler posesses every Skill in the Book to bowl the best balls ever bowled.

Hencewhy part time Offies , can rip Wrong un`s bigger than Warnies ball of the Century etc.[DOUBLEPOST=1565521447][/DOUBLEPOST]I dearly hope they fix the issue of Late Timed Shots from Blue or Yellow balls from going up in the air , I suspect the same problem translates to the Agressive Ground shot also going aerial...

I would argue ball modelling is crucial as it affects everything else. In real life ball condition is why in ODIs you give specialist swing bowlers the opening overs, whereas in Tests you would normally throw the ball to specialist steamers. Lack of accurate modelling also means you can bring on spinners and be equally effective in almost all conditions which is frankly ridiculous. This removes key tactical considerations from a bowling attack.

People may not understand the details but most understand which bowlers usually bowl first even if they don't understand why. Ball physics are the heart of the game. Get those wrong and everything else is unbalanced.

Imagine a Formula 1 sim without tyre wear or where tyres performed just as well in the wet or dry. Everyone would dismiss it as totally unrealistic even if the actual racing was quite fun.

Again your right..

But my point of most not caring still stands.

This is the thing you have to remember - the job of a video game developer is to create something that is fun to play. I promise you that the masses will really not care about the red and white ball behaving differently. Cricket is an already extremely complex sport to try and recreate in a video game, goodness knows we've seen many cricket games fall by the wayside. As if that wasn't enough, you've got three completely different formats to try and code. I'm not sure there are any other sports games out there that have to do that. Then you throw in weather, pitch, outfields, player skills, traits, speed, swing, spin, seam etc etc etc.

If you're looking for a perfect simulation of any sport, you're going to be very disappointed with your gaming experience. I've spent the last 12 years playing racing sims (such as iRacing and rFactor/rFactor 2) that are in the hardcore bracket, made for the niche market and far beyond your F1 games, yet they still have big issues when it comes to the nitty-gritty in the physics department. At some point, you have to enjoy what you can within the limitations.

Big Ant has provided an inordinate amount of traits, perks and difficulty/physics sliders to tailor the game to your way of playing, along with the ability to save sliders presets. Mess around, see what you can create. Just don't forget to have some fun and try and look beyond some of the shortcomings.

Is Cricket 19 perfect? Absolutely nowhere near. Is it fun to play? It's fun enough for me to have already completed a full Ashes series with no simulating.

In the end we all try to make the games we play work in a way gives some form of enjoyment and otherwise we stop playing/buying them.

I myself see many many things that I would want to see fixed but have still had a lot of enjoyment out of the game.

Whatever we think should be fixed, should have been fixed from the beginning, should have been designed differently, should have, must have.....it doesnt get it fixed unless ba fix it. All issues have been known to them for a long time, a long time.

I can either stop playing the game or find a way that works for me.

Its great that people can vent their frustration and thats the beauty of freedom of speech and of these forums but in the end that wont make the game work for you however frustrating that may be and however much you feel shat on by ba for it not being the way you feel it should be, perhaps even with a lot of justification.

Not sure what my point is but its in there somewhere! :p

Edit: Ha! What @stevie said!

Yes I still find it fun (and I enjoy editing teams and stadiums) but I would have thought that a slider limiting swing to certain periods of the game or making spin bowling difficult with a new ball /grassy wicket would be fairly straightforward? Ideally there should also be limits on what type of balls can be bowled based on the skills of a bowler (see EA Cricket).

Much of the game is very sophisticated so it is odd that some things is missing. I guess it is a matter of priorities really. Maybe next time...
