Player Releases / Retentions

- Each team is allowed an unrestricted amount of player releases and retentions.
- A franchise may release (or retain) all eighteen of their players should they choose to.
- The more players you release; the earlier you are likely to start in the Player Draft.
- All retired players MUST be released
- Players who are retired from International cricket but still play List A and/or First Class are eligible for retentions (Example: Mohammad Amir)
- Players who are Twenty20-only players are not eligible for retentions (Example: Eoin Morgan)

I want to know to what extent will players' current real-life form and their performances in the previous Haier Cup play a role in deciding their ratings. Would the simulator take them into account or not?

And will the bowling all-rounders' bowling ratings be the same as specialist bowlers'?

Players are not rated on their roles. Players are rated on their stats. If a specialist bowler averages 50 with the ball, and a part-timer averages 15. The part-timer will do better.

Their current real-life form is key, as was the case in the last league I ran (IODC). The biggest example of that is the fact that Virat Kohli finished that league with an average of 36.18 from 18 games, solely because of his form. His overall stats are far better than that. But form plays a massive role in me determining how a player is rated.

As far as stats from old Haier Cup seasons go, there really is no application for them atm. I do plan on making that a part of the league in future editions, but I need to go back and compile stats from previous seasons to make it happen. And unfortunately, that isn't possible for me to do, at least this year.

Should point out, players who are injured IRL and haven't played much cricket recently will lose rating points as their 'form' is going to be non-existent.
