As a Hampshire supporter, there is only one answer, the blonde bombshell which is Shane Warne, then the other obvious answer would be KP, and them you could go onto Tremlett, all are worthy of being my favourite cricketers, but no, i choose the lesser players who churn out runs every year, without recognition almost.
Nic Pothas is one, who i'd love to see in an England jersey but it isnt going to happen, he is reliable with the bat, and ever more so with the gloves, hell, under the orders of Shane Warne hes got himself a bit of a bowl aswell (Ok he bowled in his pads, but thats just showing his self belief!)
My other favourite cricketer is hopefully one day going to be an England batsmen, its Lumb, he is talented and still awefully young at 27. Ok he is South African, but Strauss was a cracker, and i dont need to say anything about KP do i, so Lumb is a real potential, he mixes the elegent defence with the "ruff and tumble," of all out attack, and its a real bargain to snap him up on a contract at the start of this season.
I mean Chris Benham could easily be my most favourite cricketer, and at 24 he is still learning, but hell, hes done well to get where he is in Hampshire at this age!
Ok ok, shamefully my favourite cricketer is Greg Lamb, the Zimbabwean is a massive thing for Hampshire, i mean what with KP keep running off for International Duties, we need a man whos overly reliable and he averages 25+ with the bat, and averages about the same with the ball...Unfortunately, when KP is around aswell as the hopefully international capped player of Mascarenhas
the Hampshire board will see fit to use Lamby more...either way he is a great batsman, and a bowler, but is unlucky not to make some of the bigger scores or hauls.
