    - You won't be able to invest in academies/purchase any players if you are in Red. - The game doesn't 'end' just because you are in red.

    Star Youth Signings

I got lucky twice with Durham in form of C Fish (whom I signed) and T Stott (who regened in my squad). The former has been exceptional in FC, averaging over 68 for first two seasons (and scoring 1000+ runs in both seasons!). Unfortunately, he doesn't do too well in ODs. Stott on the other...

    ICC 2010 - Wish List

My wish list: - Sortable columns. For a game that is based on performance and not attributes, this really hurts. - Better (read more) pitches/pitch preparation. Some of the things I'd like to see are hardness and pace of the pitch. I for one have found the pitches to be rather one dimensional...

    (ICC 09) OD help

Thanks a ton mate! Have a game against Gloucestershire soon. Will let you know how it turns out. (PS: Yeah, I was clearly going way too aggressive with my bowling. Batting tactics I use aren't all that different from yours. Guess I need a couple of real aggressive bats. Di Venuto & Mustard...

    (ICC 09) OD help

Playing Durham. I have a first class bowling attack that nevertheless seems toothless in ODs, conceding at over 5rpo on even friendly pitches. And the batting... if I bat first, I'm lucky to hit 200 and usually collapse while chasing. I have pretty much cracked the FC and even do reasonably well...

Can't get opposition out in 2nd innings on a seaming pitch

I had a similar game recently where the opposition chased down 300+ on a very tough batting pitch. However, mostly, I have no problems bowling out the opposition in FC games (Two county championships with Durham). The key is to attack the new batsmen and keep looking for wickets even when they...

    Training Stratigies

I have a slightly different strategy. When you start off, you don't get much money to buy decent trainees, specially if you start off at the beginning of the season, those comp/med batters and bowlers are really expensive. So instead, my strategy works like follows: Season 1: 1. Buy 5...

    India in South Africa

Damn... two complete new openers? You couldn't do worse! I'd say stick with Jaffer and Sehwag. We have never given an opening pair enough time to develop. Maybe Sehwag can be replaced with Ghambir. It may serve as a wake up call. Also, I am against the idea of makeshift openers. It's a...

    India in South Africa

Lunch taken... Zaheer gets Gibbs caught in slips on the 4th ball (could have been out on the first ball to a bat-pad). Boy looks like this might be the 1st Indian win in SA!

    India in South Africa

India lead by 400 now... Sreesanth with his antics and VRV with very effective and equally comic hitting... and now runout... all over! Nel to Sreesanth... Sreesanth Moves back, smashed Nel for a six and then the most weird celebration you will ever see... something like Rajnikanth's pelvic...

Laxman is really playing well. Some very nice strokes. Let's hope Zaheer can keep him company. Btw... no frenchman in the house... j'y habite, c'est tout!

The only pity was Tendulkar getting out... he was really playing beautifully.

Three down now... not good bowling (apart from Pollock) but some silly batting (apart from Dravid who got a peach of a delivery).

    India in South Africa

More than the wickets it was the way we bowled and fielded that was pleasing to the eyes! Ganguly jumping up trying to get a hand onto a six or diving in front of second slip (thank god he didn't get his hands on that!), VRV/Sreesanth bending their backs... everyone latching on to their catches...

Now 7 down with Sreesanth breathing fire! Damn it feels good!
