Hello everyone.
I have been here for about a week now, and by the looks of it, this game has a lot of bugs. I have heard that Fifa 2004 and Rugby have even more bugs than cricket 2004. Just TRY to ignore the bugs and ENJOY the game.

ugh...

bugs are an unfortunate part of gaming life these days. it is an unfortunate fact. as games get more and more complex, so to do the bugs that come with them. no amount of beta testing will guarantee a bug free release in most instances. that is entirely forgiveable.

what is not forgiveable at all, is a game that has been rushed through post production to meet a publishers deadline with absolutely no testing whilst containing some absolutely ridiculous - and game killing - bugs. couple that with the fact that post sales support at both HB and EA is bordering on the worst in the industry, and it becomes a little difficult to "ignore the bugs and ENJOY the game."

woa, u have some strong feelings against it, no game can be bug free, so ENJOY it is as MUCH AS YOU CAN.

Without any of the AI patches installed this game is very ordinary. The lineup bug is the most annoying because it means that you have to stick with the default team unless you intend to play the whole game without saving. The runout bug is annoying but can be got around by using a default field with short mid on and mid off. I also use a short cover and mid wicket. This almost completely gets rid of the problem.
I've installed AI patch 5 and I have to say it is brilliant. I play on hard mode and have found that with this patch this is actually a pretty good game.

What you don't seem to follow is that with the amount of bugs the game IS not enjoyable. There is no way that I would play this game if it were not for the AI and other patches. But, there still remains very serious bugs that should not be there in the first place. We were all looking to a great game, and EA promoted the game as such. In the end I feel like I have been duped.

EA reps fantasize over people like you

I agree completely. It shouldn't be up to users of a product to fix it's many problems. The annoying thing is the problems are so obvious that they would definetly have been picked up by the games developers. But because they had a deadline they released the game before it was complete. Typical of EA really.

Let's all just be happy that we have a game for Cricket updated every 18months or so. I'm sure there are other spots in which there are hardly any recent games....like tennis (for PC)....curling..and other weird sports lol

Two years is a long time between installments, especially when the quality is below standard. The idea is that each game improves on its predecessor, but EA seem to struggle with that concept.

heeeey at least you you can install patches i got ps2 version!

worsened by the fact that in all essence the game is essentially an update - they even forgot to remove stuff from c2k2 that is not in use in the current game. very shoddy...
