New Zealand 98/0

Fulton 60*
How 38*

Ten Doeschate 0/9
Nannes 0/19

Result : NZ win by 10 wickets.

Reaction:
Well, a very easy win in the end. Netherlands put themselves into bat and were quickly at 15/4. They managed to limp to 97/10 after a good innings from ten Doeschate. After he fell it was all over, and Netherlands were quickly bowled out. The Batting went great, as you can see from the result. The only bowlers that troubled How an Fulton were Nannes and Ten Doeschate, but they couldn't get the wicket.

First super 8 win, Australia is next. Your up Blades.

Rankin 2/24(3.4 overs)
Johnston 2/33(4 overs)

Result:
New Zealand win by 3 wickets.

MOTM:
Shane Bond(5/21)

Reaction:
Starting out I quickly had them 2/5 and then a bit later 4/18.
That's when O'Brien,K and Cusack came to the crease and first stemmed the flow of wickets and then upped the run rate.
They were 4/96 when I finally got the breakthrough and decimated the fight back so they only reached 8/116.

It looked good to start with McCullum smiting 2 fours of the first four balls, the second over everything started going wrong, first Fulton and McCullum, then Taylor,Elliott and Oram.
Superb fightback from Ryder,he has easily been the pick of my batsman so far.

I'm worried about my form after this though,Ireland shouldn't have been so hard that we only just crossed the line with 2 balls to spare.

England next and I hope the boys do a whole lot better!

bladescape added 6 Minutes and 9 Seconds later...

That presentation better?

That presentation is good blades. Bloody close game though, hopefully your boys can step up when you face England.

J Oram 3/20
Vettori 3/28

New Zealand 136/4

McCullum 46
How 43
Johnson 1/19
Watson 1/19

Result: Australia won by 5 runs
MOTM: D Hussey

Reaction:
Very disappointed in the lo considering I had Australia at 53/4. After that a 72 run partnership between D. Hussey and Haddin saved them and brought them to a respectible score. If I had broken the Haddin/Hussey partnership I would have had a very easy match considering that the next highest partnership was 22, and only 4 partnerships reached double figures. Bond was a real weak link, bowling 3 overs for 41 runs.

I thought I had a good chance of chasing the total but in the end the Australians were just too tight in there bowling. I probably could have been more aggressive in my batting considering at the end of the day since I still had plenty of wickets in hand, but at the end of the day I just fell short.

Reaction:
Ouch!!
Bond struck first over to have England 1/1 but Morgan and Pietersen put on a 90 run stand and the other batsman hoed into a disconcerted bowling attack.

How finally contributed with a quick 20,but only Ryder and Bond really continued on with that,Ryder easily my most valued player so far.

...Now that was a wuppin!

Lanka next.

K.Sangakkara 29(27)

G.Elliott 3/13(4 overs)
D.Tuffey 3/22(3.5 overs)

Result:
New Zealand win by 16 runs.

MOTM:
Grant Elliott(3/13 & 1)

Reaction:
Lanka's bowlers quickly pegged me back with How for 3 and McCullum for 2.
Ryder fell quickly for 18 and Elliott for just 1 left Oram with Fulton at 29 for 4.
Then it just accelarated over the middle and later stages of the innings, taking a fast in swinger and a diving catch down legside by Sangakkara to remove Fulton.
Styris and Vettori added a few quick runs but the bulk of the work was done by Fulton and Oram.

It was a solid,if slow, start for Lanka as Sangakkara and Jayasuriya controlled the bowling,It wasn't until a change in the bowling saw both go in consecutive overs after a solid 50 partnership.
Jayawardene and co looked like destroying the advantage we'd got in those two overs until I played my surprise card, return of the deadly bowling of Elliott!!!:laugh
However funny that comment may seem it was quite accurate,Elliott quickly returning Matthews,Silva and Kulasakera to the pavilion.
He bowling well in tandem with Franklin who took Dilshan and Mendis, leaving it to Tuffey to clean up the tail with help from a run out.

However, despite my win here and equal points with both England and Lanka,my run rate is lower and therefore,we're out of the T20 cup.

Next up is a tour of T20 cup champions:Sri Lanka!(Yes they won it in the end.)
