I think LF mean Hamilton, who has obviously been replaced for Stephen Bailey who is a young British driver :)

Who do YOU think will take pole in Australia?

So, with testing now concluded and Ferrari and McLaren looking set to be the pace setters in Australia, who do you think will take the first pole position of the season? Please take time to vote in the poll and post your reasons in the thread.

Alonso Sets Pace in Aussie Practice as Honda Woes Continue

Fernando Alonso came out of practice with the fastest time, narrowly beating the two Ferrari's and team-mate Stephen Bailey. Just .3 of a second covered the top four cars. The McLaren's were 1-2 throughout the two previous sessions before both Raikkonen and Massa pushed Bailey down to fourth towards the end of final practice.

Alonso on the limit on his way to fastest time

Nick Heidfeld showed that the pace of BMW over the winter was genuine, setting fifth best time ahead of team-mate Kubica. Giancarlo Fisichella headed the evenly matched midfield from Aussie Mark Webber.

Kubica & Heidfeld impressed again

Propping up the times were Honda duo Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello. Button, 21st, found himself a whole second off the pace of Christijan Albers in the Spyker ahead of him. Barrichello finished practice 22nd after heavily damaging his race car at the fast chicane and then he suffered an engine failure in second practice. He only managed to complete seven laps in final practice.

Barrichello losing it at the high speed turn 11

Barrichello wasn't the only man to fall victim of the high speed turns 11 and 12. World champion Fernando Alonso had a nasty accident after taking too much curb on the exit. Alexander Wurz made the same mistake and suffered a heavier impact after smashing into the concrete wall, whereas Alonso went into the tyre wall.

Could be very interesting between Ferrari and Mercedes in the actual race, and young Master Bailey is doing well :p
