It's so wrong to say Rahul & Kohli played horribly. Just so you know, 90% of the balls were hit from middle of the bat. It's just that the ball always found the fielders.

We gave away free singles/twos/boundaries without proper field placement.

This is absolutely dominating performance from these two batters. Not once have they looked bothered in the crease, in a WC final against probably the best bowling lineup this tournament, not to mention in front of a huge crowd mostly in favor of the opposition. Seems that India can win a tournament only when it is a 3 match Finale . After Dhoni's captaincy era , India has been very very unlucky . Even miracles happen on bad day or something magical . But not on India's side . Guess Dhoni was absolutely right : God won't come down to save you . It's you who have to do this
