666 - anyone knows about this!

That would be a long time ago. And it is still 6/06/6...

Not all people use that 0 before the 6 to display the month of June. For instance I would always date it as follows:

5/6/2006

I do to, but to be accurate, it would have to be 05/06/2006...

Thats not being accurate, its just preference. Some people use the 0 before the first real number, some don't.

0 are only for accuracy after a decimal point! As for how you write the date the standard way is what Zorax listed. As you can't really have 06 for a year as that could mean 1906, or 1806 etc.

Yes, but for the days and the month that is not true. Adding the 0 before it isnt necessarily the correct way, its all about preference.

5/6/2006 is just as accurate as 05/06/2006

Edit: Damn you Andrew you're quick!

Well from the reading up I did the ISO standard format is

The international format defined by ISO (IS0 8601) tries to address all these problems by defining a numerical date system as follows: YYYY-MM-DD where

* YYYY is the year [all the digits, i.e. 2012]
* MM is the month [01 (January) to 12 (December)]
* DD is the day [01 to 31]

But for me I write it without the 0, infact I write the year as 06 cause its easier.

Anyway I'm on the 6/6/06 nothing strange happening apart from me feeling insecure about one exam.

yes, the ISO format says to put 0 before numbers.
It is used to signify the range of nos.

eg- 01 means it can vary b/w 00-99 and so on for other.

It's generally for industries, where regularisation of work is necessary.

See, I am right! ISO says so!

Although then, it should actually be:
2006/06/06...
Nothin spooky there :)

ISO is an industry standard. 6/6/2006 is a perfectly acceptable date format. you're just trying to be awkward, which is exactly what you used to have a go at me for....... :p

The ISO format also means that if you take the dashes out, the larger the number, the later the date. Helpful while organizing files. ;)
