Not all people use that 0 before the 6 to display the month of June. For instance I would always date it as follows:
5/6/2006

ZoraxDoom said:I do to, but to be accurate, it would have to be 05/06/2006...
Putting a zero before a whole number does nothing for its accuracy.ZoraxDoom said:I do to, but to be accurate, it would have to be 05/06/2006...
5/6/2006 is exactly the same accuracy as 05/06/2006. The zero is completely optional.ZoraxDoom said:I do to, but to be accurate, it would have to be 05/06/2006...
aussie1st said:0 are only for accuracy after a decimal point! As for how you write the date the standard way is what Zorax listed. As you can't really have 06 for a year as that could mean 1906, or 1806 etc.
The international format defined by ISO (IS0 8601) tries to address all these problems by defining a numerical date system as follows: YYYY-MM-DD where
* YYYY is the year [all the digits, i.e. 2012]
* MM is the month [01 (January) to 12 (December)]
* DD is the day [01 to 31]

But for me I write it without the 0, infact I write the year as 06 cause its easier.
Anyway I'm on the 6/6/06 nothing strange happening apart from me feeling insecure about one exam.
ISO is an industry standard. 6/6/2006 is a perfectly acceptable date format. you're just trying to be awkward, which is exactly what you used to have a go at me for.......ZoraxDoom said:See, I am right! ISO says so!
Although then, it should actually be:
2006/06/06...
