Any videos of AI batting in a T20 or ODI when chasing a target?

Just thought I'd upload some uncompressed screenshots of the game on PC. The game is a mixed bag at the higher res - it makes some things look a lot nicer, but in some places low res textures are made much more obvious.

One area not addressed is AI bowler selections - they seem to just be based on the highest rated bowler - getting a spinner in the second over seems to be just the norm in county matches. Commentary is a bit more varied, but still frequently wrong or missing names.

Otherwise, everything listed in the change notes has been evident in my experience with it, though some of them are hard to come by, like I haven't had a duckworth lewis result yet.

Obviously though, I http://imgur.com/qkvi9ZJstill need to play it more. I'm currently working through a career mode as a T20 specialist - starting at 31 and playing for Ireland internationally. I just forfeit all other matches, which is easy enough with how much faster the game loads on PC.

matt u have played 35 hrs of AC13? what are u made of :rolleyes

Yeah, also those caught-and-bowled opportunities still seem a bit ridiculous to me, especially that diving forward one, that's physically impossible for a fast bowler to do that as part of an in-motion follow-through movement, he'd fracture a spine or something taking a catch like that...

Wish there was a way to completely lower those kinda occurrences to the 1 in 100 kinda thing they are. What difficulty level were you on, Matt?

I would hope that was a "highlights" reel, I don't think these happen too often. MattW might disagree?

Oh, I just looked at that video above again as it looked like AI batting in a T20. I somehow missed this video. What difficulty were you playing at?

Some comments:

1. Agree with @Biggs on the C&B - really need to tone them down, especially the one at the end where the fast bowler dives in front on the follow through. Never seen that one in real life.

2. Still too many rash shots by the AI -- e.g., the one around the 00:33s mark, where the AI is 5/42, and plays a ridiculous shot to get out. Also, noticed that the AI was 4/12 at one point in that match (assuming same one). :(.

3. The AI chase looked interesting, the one starting at 00:44s, where it looked like the AI was chasing 178 in 20 overs, and had gone to 94/1 in 9.3 (a great start!), and then lost a few there. What happened in the end Matt?

I know we are jumping to conclusions from highlights from a couple of games, so we need to put this all in perspective.

It just goes to show how much promise this game has as a franchise that some really minor things that fans would previously have just overlooked in an earlier cricket game from another developer, are being requested for improvement in this iteration.

Patch 2 looks like it's going to fix a lot of those little concerns though. Can't wait.

The video is from a 31 year old career - started on Pro.

They lost by 19 runs - me taking those wickets killed their momentum. It was a semi-final of the Big Bash.

Scorecard.

Yeah, I've lost count of the amount of dropped chances for caught and bowled - not quite '1 in 100' but certainly rare for one to be taken - even from the AI.

There's not enough slip catches - but they are there, you'll get them.

I think the main issue with caught + bowled isn't whether they catch or drop it or not - but that they get their hands to it and stop it without fail. In real life a large majority of the balls smashed at the bowler go straight through without a touch (or only a tiny deflection without loss of speed).

One thing that really annoys me is when you bowl someone with your pace man, the ball just drops to the base of the stumps. That gives no impression that the ball is traveling at 90 mph. I thought we would see stumps being uprooted is this patch.
