Malinga would have faced some serious question if he had given away 19 runs in the last over, particularly with Irfan being the batter. West, well, valiant effort but just short of the target. Not the first time that Sachin has scored a century and his team has lost. I like the way Dhoni batted. So much close to reality. That said, it seems Dwayne Bravo and Manoj Tiwary had interchanged their names for the match, the way they scored was the exact anti-climax of how they normally make runs.

Pitch Report:
Well, the pitch here looks absolutely flat, Delhi isn't a high scoring venue yet, but this match might just end up with both the teams scoring very high. And this being a day match, we can see the fog still not yet clearing. There is no chance that this match will be truncated, but delayed start is something what is foreseen.

Toss:
With not a full crowd, the captains Kohli and Dravid make their way to the middle, with the match officials. Kohli spins the coin, Dravid calls it wrong. Kohli opts to field first. He says that the fog will take time to clear and its better to bowl than to bat in the circumstances where the visibility is at the lower end. Dravid says that he would have chosen to bat first, considering the pitch is newly made, and a score above 350 is secure according to Dravid.

First Innings:
As surmised, the openers Shane Watson and Murali Vijay had issues with visibility of the ball. White color ball coming out of white dense fog was a definite problem to the one who is batting. The game was halted for half an hour, groundsmen were protecting the pitch surface.

After 45 mins delay, the first ball was finally bowled, where Shane Watson and Murali Vijay played very cautious cricket. Watson scored runs here and there, but Vijay didn't even score a single run for the first three overs. After the fog was moving out, the scoring rate gradually increased, and it was in the tenth over, when the first boundary was hit by Watson. And then, there was no stopping for both Watson and Vijay. They both played flawless cricket, and both of them scored half centuries. Watson reached first, in 61 balls, where as Vijay's half century came in 72 balls.

After the half century knocks, Watson played in top form. Murali Vijay was also playing well, but Watson's perfect cricket outsmarted Vijay's knock. Murali Vijay kept the strike with him when Watson was on 98. He played for 3 consecutive overs, got the century before Watson reached to it. But Angelo Mathews was the man for the Strom, as he picked up Murali Vijay, after 31 overs. Rahul Dravid joined Shane Watson at the middle. Dravid played some defensive cricket for the first ten balls, when Watson completed his hundred with a big six in just 101 balls. Then it was Dravid, who played awesome strokes what reached boundaries. Dravid reached fifty of 38 balls, after which he scored a boundary before he got out on 54. His inning consisted of a big six off Angelo Mathews. But Harbhajan Singh had his own ideas on how to pick someone out. Dravid got stuck by the ball on his pads, what ended his quick inning and by the time this happened, Watson was in a dozy mood, as he wasn't getting much of strike. But when AB de Villiers joined him, the came was alive as what happened was absolute masserce. Both de Villiers and Watson played as if they had been injected with steroids. Almost they quickly added 53 runs in just 4 overs, what assured SteelMen to score over 350. Watson was out at 146 in just 120 balls. Badrinath and de Villiers managed to score 31 runs off the last 15 balls, with three boundaries and a huge six.

South to win it, no two ways about it. If North wins, better give the pitch curator, a contract for making the national highways.

Second Innings:
Storm batsmen Sehwag and Gambhir walked in with great confidence, as they had a huge deal to chase something really big. The Delhi duo played some strong cricket, they both scored just above run a ball for first few overs. Then scoring rate was controlled by Shane Watson, as he really bowled exceptionally well at right areas. But on the other side, it was flow of runs. Match really was going interesting, but one thing what kept Steel Men Confident was every over they bowled, the Required run rate was climbing. Both of the batsmen made centuries, as they both scored 254 runs in just 231 balls, what meant they needed to score around 10 an over after Gautam Gambhir fell to Abhimanyu Mithun.

They might have seen their team lose for the first time after they have scored centuries

Kohli walked in, joined Sehwag. After scoring about 20 runs, Sehwag departed as Dravid took an out standing catch. Yuvraj Singh walked in. Although these two scored at quicker rate and scored well near to 350, they couldn't actually score 364, what could have earned them a victory. Kohli scored 40 off 36, Yuvraj 38 in 25 deliveries.

Post Match Presentation:
Kohli says "We could have done something when we were bowling. Its the first innings, where we were out played. Should learn from the mistakes what took place today." Watson says "Well, the ball was coming on to the bat well. The first 5-6 overs were bit rusty due to fog, but after that, the conditions seemed perfect for batting." Dravid says "Good to start the things off with a victory. Watson destroyed Northern Storm. scoring 146 and bowling at a wonderful economy of just above 4 is something brilliant."

Watson played brilliantly, scored a century and bowled economically and fielded well too. :p
