Andrew Symonds has told Queensland he won't play for them in the Sheffield Shield this season as he doesn't want to take a younger player's spot.
In a positive shot in the arm for the development of the Queensland Bulls, Symonds says he will only play in four-day cricket if he is sent a mayday by Bulls coach Trevor Barsby.
That would only happen if the Bulls suffered a major injury crisis and the most likely scenario is Symonds will play only Twenty20 cricket for Queensland.

The title link is a little mis-leading, the title on the article is probably more accurate.
A good move I feel from Symonds. He's never going to play for Australia again, unless he get's some freak call up for the Twenty20 squad but Australia has plenty of quality young batsmen to call up again so there isn't much point in him playing First Class cricket.
