I'm thinking of buying it as well, but I don't have a HD tv. Is it still worth getting it?
You don't need a high definition set to enjoy an Xbox 360.

yer you need to be a complete idiot :):):)

joke i might get one in the near future

Graphics are still good even without HDTV but if you want to enjoy it at its best then get a HDTV :)

Umm, and duded if your waiting for some awesome titles then get it now! :D Currently there are so many awesome games like PREY!, Hitman: BM!!, G.R.A.W!!!, Dead or Alive 4!!!!, FIFA 2006: WC!!!!!, Perfect Dark Zero!!!!!! Elder's Scroll 4!!!!!!!.

You forgot to add Farcry to that list :D

without HD TV, it would be a dissapointment.

gamespot pointed out this fact in a article,
http://www.gamespot.com/features/61...?type=tech&hc=1

although we all can suggest thousands of game, it would be better if u visit gaming websites like www.gamespot.com, www.ign.com and find out ratings of games.

these websites also publish editors choice awards which are given to select games only.U can try them first.
Personally, I always rely more on word-of-mouth recommendation for a game rather than taking website reviews too seriously.

Duded64, as you said it is better to wait for that one killer game which makes you feel you can't live without it, before investing such a lot of money to get a 360 - especially if you don't have a HDTV. The Xbox 360 doesn't have any real "killer" exclusives at the moment.

Right then, I'll have to wait a couple of years before I get a HD tv! By then I'll probably be in Uni with tons of debt...

The graphics are amazing on my system and I have no intention of buying a high definition set.

PS3 releases in a few months time, I'm waiting.

I dont mind as I've recently spent 2 grand++ on a new pc rig.

Thats the first part of your payment. Then comes all the equip and games which are quite pricy as well (I hear).

Maybe someone could compare a HDTV with a normal TV and a LCD screen. Like Ritwik said I would be much happier getting a response from someone here rather than a website.

im seriously thinking of getting it know so i need a game to get when i first get it one i can play for a month and still not get board

These are the best games in some genres for the XBox 360.
Role Playing: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Tactical Shooter: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
First Person Shooter: Perfect Dark Zero/Call of Duty 2
Racing: Burnout Revenge/Project Gotham 3
3D Fighting: Dead or Alive 4
Fantasy Action Adventure: Kameo Elements of Power

You can find more great games here: http://www.gamespot.com/games.html?...&page_type=games&dlx_type=all&date_filter=all

Gamespot recommends:

http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/theelderscrollsivoblivion/index.html

The Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion

I'm not much of a role-play person, but apparently it's the best ever made and role-play games can last for ages before you complete them and it's not too hard or too easy either.

Personally, I'm waiting for the Wii. Cheaper, more innovative and likely to be more fun, with a few huge launch titles: the new Mario, Zelda and Metroid games, along with Wii sports, which could turn out to be one of the best multiplayer games in history.
