My feedback of this tournament is before the next season happens, please get rid of people who are politically connected. This is the best tournament in the world featuring the best sides in world, make it feel like that. Also give opportunities to smaller nations to host so they can grow. Let Nepal host it, let their fans bring in the passion they have for cricket to the ground.
Make this tournament great again. While nothing to take away from the Indian side who are somewhat deserved champions based on all the performances (Great recovery against Pakistan in the first inning, great carnage in batting against Nepal, superb batting and bowling performance against Pakistan again, amazing comeback against Sri Lanka, hard fought loss against Bangladesh and thumping victory in finals), if this was not marred by rain and politics, this would have been an amazing tournament.
My ratings based on points table
1. India - 7.5/10 - Bowling gets 4/5 and batting gets 3.5/5.
2. Sri Lanka - 6/10 - Bowling gets 4/5 and batting gets 2/5.
3. Bangladesh - 2/10 - Batting 1/5 and bowling 1/5
4. Pakistan - 5/10 - Batting 2.5/5 and bowling 2.5/5.
5. Afghanistan - 4/10 - Batting 2/5 and bowlign 2/5
6. Nepal - 2/10 - Batting 1/10 and bowling 1/10.
For the world cup.
India - Need to make sure number 4 and 5 are solid and get good game time against Aussies. Bowling looks good and settled even though Bumrah is just back. Kohli needs to get a little more consistent. Its either a 100 or 0 for him right now. Do not get complacent, keep eyeing the world cup now.
Sri Lanka - Need to fix some of the batting kinks. Once few who missed tournament are back, they will be much more competitive and explosive. Really excited for Sri Lanka after a long time. Good solid unit.
Pakistan - As usual over reliance on Babar and Rizwan needs to stop, this is ODI and unlike T20 where teams have little chance to make comeback, here opposition have a lot of time to come back. Bowling also looks weak and mediocre. Playing sub-continent specially India is not going to help Afridi who they are also over reliant on.
Bangladesh - Need to fix their middle order woes. Shakib and Rahim cannot carry the team forever. Also need a little more potent attack.
Afghanistan - Need a lot of work on aggression as they are going the way Bangladesh is, more contributions from the batsman. In subcontinent where scores will be 275+, batsman have to be on top of their game.
