Story Aussie Beltas - Bouncing Back (Battrick)

Number 4

Many fans criticise that the middle order of the Aussie Beltas isnt as strong as the top 3. But even though their skills aren't as high, they still keep a high standard and support their other players.

Liam Maughan, the captain is a very good leader on the pitch with sufficient experience to allow him to control the game quite well. Although since becomming captain he has nearly bitten his nails off, he has proven that he can be the man to get the team out of dangerous situations. He has 89 capped one day matches averaging just over 50 and 14 first class matches to his name. He is an english player who on Australia Day gained his citezinship for Australia, a very proud man he was.

We caught up with manager Brett_lee at a training session.

MEDIA: Brett_Lee, how are things looking for the new season?
B_L: Well mate, the team is gaining their fitness and putting lots of hard work in at training.
MEDIA: Will your team have a better plan to keep personal fitness levels high during the season with FC and OD?
B_L: Yes we are going to try rest our gun players as much as possible. Our First Class league is quite easy so that might be the time.
MEDIA: What is your response to crticism that your middle order isnt very strong?
B_L: Well skillwise yes, they are only respectables and competents. We are trying to upgrade these within the next season. Whether we train them or not, Liam Maughan will be there for a long time as there are other middle order batsman who can go.
MEDIA: Thanks for your time.

You seem very confident in being able to win your FC league.
