Very slow game yesterday. Queensland really played bad. Why didn't they choose their powerplay when they were falling behind and they knew rain was coming? They should have just slogged to try and get to duckworth lewis required score.

Drew is carrying on from where he left off last season, he does look to be another talented up and coming bowler from Tassie.

Yeah Drew was bowling really good and Divin who was on debut had a good game after a shaky start with the bat.

What's that Divin bowl? On his profile it lists fast medium. Tassie sure can find the all rounders. Wright, Butterworth, Watson and now him.

Divin got a wicket in his first over, also took a really good catch in the deep.
He bowls pretty fast too.

Watson grew up in QLD and has played there for the past 3 odd seasons.

Yea I know his history, as stated he started his career at Tassie.

Just saw North out for 2 weeks bit of a loss for WA but they have enough batters to cover the loss.
Wade has also pushed out Crosthwaite, good move imo he looks more promising than Crosthwaite who hasn't done anything special for Victoria so far.

Tim Paine showing some more quality? Seems to be a good young player. Looks a typical Aussie though from his Cricinfo picture :p.

Nice to hear about a young Aussie lad grinding out an innings on a slow pitch. Will do him some good. Is he real talent? If for instance he has a good year, would he at all be pushing Ronchi/Haddin for the One-Day Keepers slot, because I know he hasn't played a lot of 4 day stuff?

Not really, he's more of a part time keeper in my opinion. Only keeps in the shorter form of the game. A future opener if things continue this way, but things are unclear.

Hes a good batting talent but like Dean said he doesn't keep in the 4 day game. So yeah more a batter then anything. but hes a pretty decent keeper, took a good catch diving forwards yesterday.

So It's a matter of him improving his Keeping? Who keeps ahead of him in the 4 day game?

North is the major omission from this game, but WA still look stronger on paper. Voges returns from a temporary call-up to captain in place of North. It's a batsman heavy lineup vs a bowler heavy lineup for the Blues, not that the Blues are packing a lot of heat there. NSW will rely on their top order to dust the WA pace attack on what is almost always expected to be a batting wicket. WA on the other hand will look to capitalise on every ball through its powerful strikers such as Ronchi, Pomersbach and Ervine. Langer ain't so bad either. The hot battle is Rogers vs Jaques, but don't be surprised if the old master upstages them both.
