Australia best hope Hewitt is out already but youngster Tomic has made it through to the 2nd round.

Murray top seed for this open, will be interesting seeing how he goes. And of course if Nadal can break through with an Aussie open win or will the Fed train come back.

Hewitt still is no.1 in my books...That is the no.1 person I wanna punch in the face.

Hes one of those guys that you either love or hate. I just noticed that Ivanovic does that skip thing just before she serves just like Sharapova.

Both our young juniors are out, Tomic did well to win the opening set but his big serving opponent got him in the end.

Tomic looked like a great talent.
He just needs to work on returning 200+km/h serves.
Guchione is the only Aussie left now in the mens, right?(Thats not how you spell it,is it?:()

It was a shame it was the last game of the night, meant it was on too late for my liking so couldn't see him play. But as he matures and his body grows he will play those serves much better.

Yep hes our last man in the comp, has a great serve but the other parts of his game isn't so great.

Ah dam another early exit for Ivanovic. Still haven't fully got behind Dokic as an Aussie but that may change the way she is going.

Ivanovic is slowly morphing in that Russian Anna girl.

Dokic versus fatty le bacon tonight.

Jankovic and Ivanovic have huge problems focusing on the game mentally. Nole seems to be the only one that can stand up and fight back after being down.
Also good on Dokic t make it to the 16, she was off for a long time but she just won a tough match.

Good to see Dokic move on, now her biggest test against the 3rd seed.
I see Federer was down 2 sets, he certainly has lost that aura he had around him last year. Now everyone has belief they can topple him.

Yeah congrats to Dokic, though that Russian chick was freaking annoying, every point she won she had to bloody scream, even when it came off a Dokic error. I'm glad Dokic beat her.

Go Dokic! I thought she was past it but it appears she's back to her best, which is incredible stuff. I'm tipping her to beat Safina too, I don't rate Safina too highly. She's shown herself vulnerable already this year, losing in the Hopman Cup to Cibulkova.

I'm still amazed at the hype surrounding Murray, fair dinkum making the guy favourite pre tournament without having won a Grand Slam. Looks like Dementieva will go all the way in the women though, she's in red hot form.

Glad that Andy "arrogant, no humility, thinks he's a god of tennis" Murray is out of the open. Hopefully he'll retire from tennis soon.

Isn't this the Australian attitude? I am enjoying having some arrogance in the British ranks for once. Murray and Hamilton are doing well.
