Story Australia's Glory Days - 1st ODI - BAN 236 (47) vs AUS 6/240 (47.3)

If I may, who is Jake McDonald?

Nice start so far btw, keep it up and can't wait for play to begin!

Nathan Spinks: Brett Lee to open the bowling for Australia here. Iqbal will face the first ball of the match.

Jake McDonald: Well Nathan, It is a pretty obvious choice to have Brett Lee be the Spearhead as he does rocket them in at 150/kmph.

Nathan Spinks: Well, Lee's starting his run up as we get underway...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

0.1, Brett Lee to Tamim Iqbal; ONE RUN: Brett Lee steams in, coming over the wicket and fires one in at Iqbal's pads. Tamim Iqbal goes on the front foot and attempts a leg glance. It ends up next to Michael Clarke as they run a quick single. Well run.

0.2, Brett Lee to S Nafees; DOT BALL: Brett Lee continues to come over the wicket to yet another left hander in S Nafees. The ball swings in at Nafees stumps, Nafees gives himself some room to do something with it and attempts to play an off drive. Only to be met by Phillip Hughes at Mid off.

0.3, Brett Lee to S Nafees; DOT BALL: Brett Lee fires a bouncer at chest height. Nafees drops on the back foot and defends. Mitchell Johnson at silly point cleans the ball up.

0.4, Brett Lee to S Nafees; DOT BALL: Brett Lee fires in a yorker. The yorker is dug out by a cautious Nafees. The ball continues to roll towards Michael Clarke at Mid off.

0.5, Brett Lee to S Nafees; DOT BALL: Brett Lee fires yet another chest height bouncer at S Nafees from around the wicket. This time however Nafees isn't quite ready for the burst of pace from Lee and top edges it, falling short of Mitchell Johnson.

0.6, Brett Lee to S Nafees; DOT BALL: Brett Lee with another aimed at the pads. It's played straight back to Lee, Lee stops it however. No run.

If you are looking to play "(40 One Dayers, 40 Tests.)" over by over updates will take way... i mean way too long.

I would look at maybe doing session updates or even day updates for the tests, while do maybe 15 over updates for the one dayers.

Doing session updates for test matches, but ball by ball commentary for ODI's. I'm just taking ages to do it because i'm a little bit sick. It sounds as though I'm avoiding doing it. But it's the truth mate.

Spinksy added 11 Minutes and 58 Seconds later...

1.1, Mitchell Johnson to T Iqbal; DOT BALL: Defended well, on the back foot and blocked.

1.2, Mitchell Johnson to T Iqbal; DOT BALL: Short of a length delivery, Iqbal thinks about the shot but leaves it alone

1.3, Mitchell Johnson to T Iqbal; ONE RUN: Pitch just outside of off stump. It's hot hard but is quickly cleaned up.

1.4, Mitchell Johnson to S Nafees; DOT BALL: Nafees on the front foot, blocked.

1.5, Mitchell Johnson to S Nafees; DOT BALL: Driven at Brett Lee but is fielded. No run.

1.6, Mitchell Johnson to S Nafees; ONE RUN: Driven back at the bowler. It's hit too hard for Johnson to get a hand at first go, a quick single is run, Johnson returns the ball to the keeper.

25 over report by Jake McDonald.

The match has turned on it’s head here at the Sydney Cricket ground. The Aussie bowling attack pounded away at the Bangladesh line up, and after 11 overs the break-through came. Tamim Iqbal was caught and bowled by Brett Lee for an abysmal 13 runs, leaving the Banladesh side struggle to make a good start at 1/27 after 11 overs. However, after the tidy spell by both Lee and Clark, Siddle and Johnson were in a pickle with 0/26 after 5 overs and 0/34 after 6 overs respectively. S Nafees had sprinted his way to 56 not out after just 86 balls and S Al Hasan dipped in the run scoring pot with 40 runs off just 39 deliveries. All in all the Australians seem to be dumb-founded by the Tigers might.

Tigers: 1/120

T Iqbal - 13 (30) out
S Nafees - 56 (86) not out
S Al Hasan - 40 (39) not out

Brett Lee – 6 overs, 1/21
Stuart Clark – 8 overs, 0/33
Peter Siddle – 5 overs, 0/26

Great work Bangladesh.
Australia need some wickets or they could be chasing a big total.

Nice start mate, loving this story. Do innings updates IMO, and session/day for Tests. I can bet my life you wont finish this, because it's too much work.

BTW, the ball by ball was amazing, I think you can work for Cricinfo if you type really quickly. Also, I'm happy to be your co-host. Good team, we are. :)

Don't do ball by ball for ODI as well. It gets annoying. I tried it for the 2 T20's in my Ashes story and people didn't like it much as it wasn't the best presentation and it took way too long.

:doh

He's not doing that anymore, unless he just went from 2 overs to 25 then decided to start going again.

Anyway Spinksy, I'm really keen for another update.

Groan, stop arguing on someone else's story thread! :P

Can't wait for an update Spinksy, Go Aussies!

He did 2 overs, then a 25 over report. I think you might be a tad slow...

Nah mate. Originally I did say that I was going to do ball by ball commentary for the One Day Internationals. But considering how incredulously slow that was going to be I decided to do a 25 over report instead.
