Story Bangladesh Begin Blissful Age [India In Bangladesh]

Sorry there have been no updates for a long, long time but I've come to a very busy time, where I haven't had much time at all to play the game let alone update. I doubt there'll be an update this month, possibly but unlikely, but I'll try and get this story active once again next month.

I don't know if there will be another update for this story, I have just lost the motivation to read and write stories at the moment. Perhaps it might make a comeback in summer(July/Aug) but I can't see myself suddenly finding the motivation soon.

Cheers for the post, nonetheless, Jake.

Oh well. It was a great story while it lasted. Enjoyed reading it.

This may be making a return. I'm still wondering whether to continue this story or not but I can feel the motivation coming back slowly. So I reckon this story will be back in the next few days.

Probably. ;)

Jazzy you legend, this better win story of the year. No wait.... Go on Suren!!!!!! :p

Did reading my ICC story bring back the spark?:p

Of course it did, Jordan... ;)

Can I just say, don't expect the story to be well written to start with, I'm a bit rusty at the moment.

Third One Day International Preview

Remember Bangladesh secured that sensational 1-1 draw against India in the Tests? Nobody expected that. However, nobody expected them to be 2-0 up in the ODIs either! Going into the last One Day International and Bangladesh have already wrapped up the series to round off another quite wonderful tour for the 'minnows'. Bangladesh are rearing to go for the last ODI and have proved to the world, they aren't a small team.

The Bangladesh team for the Third ODI:

1. Shahriar Nafees
2. Mushfiqur Rahim
3. Habibul Bashar(*)
4. Mohammad Ashraful
5. Naeem Islam
6. Faisal Hossain
7. Niamur Rashid
8. Arafat Sunny
9. Ahsanullah Hasan
10. Shafaq Al-Zabir
11. Hasibul Hossain

Only two changes to the stamina depleted squad as Sadat and Mortaza both leave the team for Rashid and Al-Zabir. Bangladesh's top three is unchanged after the good performance in the last match by Rahim and Bashar. Nafees may of failed but the rest of the top order picked up the pieces, which is what a good top order does. Nafees was consistent in the Test series and after making 86* in the first ODI it looked like he would be as consistent in this ODI series. Unfortunately he didn't manage double figures in the last match and has a knocked confidence once again. The youngster has fire in his belly though and I fully expect him to perform. He opens with Mushfiqur which may of seem a strange decision in the last match after his dire record this year, but his century in the last match has concreted his place as wicketkeeper in the side. A very young opening pair, 18 and 20, need the experience but if they can do well with the bat they could be our opening partnership for the next 10+ years. The legend that is Habibul Bashar comes in at 3. The main support for Rahim in the last match with the sex obsessed Khulna batsman ending his innings on 69. He has had a quality year so far, averaging 43 in 8 Test innings and 57 in 5 ODI innings; against India and Australia. He is firmly in the book of legends for Bangladesh.

The middle order consists of Ashraful, Islam and Hossain with Bangladesh only bating down to 6 this time. Mohammad Ashraful keeps his position at four with a very decent score of 49 after his so-so Test series. He is on the fringes of the squad at the moment and needs yet another score nearer to 50 than 0. His position at 4, however, is mainly due to protect Naeem Islam. Islam has injury issues and is playing this match with very limited fitness. Islam was going to pull out of this match due to fitness worries but has made 85 runs in the last two matches without getting out, which proves to us he is still basically our best batsman despite being injured. He may only be 19 but his presence is already being felt by the other team, what with him average 76+ in both forms of International format. Whether he can perform or not is up to his physical well being, but we all are sure he can. Faisal Hossain hasn't yet had the chance to impress and bewilder the audience that watch him, but he is ready for sure. The 28 year old better be ready as his place is also not secured, much like Ashraful's, after a poor Test match, only managing double figures once(10). However he made 8* against India in the second ODI and didn't look out of place, with some very confident strokes. He needs to reinvigorate his form from domestic to International as he scored 288 runs in three innings, including one century and two half centuries both above 80! If he can find this form and rekindle that which made him get picked for Bangladesh, we'll be singing his praises.

Bangladesh have changed their bowling attack quite considerably, with two bowling changes and the new ball bowlers being different. Hasibul Hossain opens the bowling as per normal with the inclusion of Niamur Rashid. Hossain is bowling to keep himself in the squad for One Day matches as he has been anything but diabolical so far this season. He has struggled to take wickets and keep the runs down, which is bad in both cases. Niamur Rashid is in the team thanks to 10 wickets at an average of 7.7 in One Day for Dhaka. He averaged a mere 21.22 in the two opening First Class matches too. He is a 31 year old with past experience of One Day Internationals. He has played two ODIs before, managing only one wicket which is quite worrying. However, I reckon he is more than capable of improving considerably on that record. Arafat Sunny keeps his place, which was never in doubt, despite his fitness also being monitored closely. Ahsanullah Hasan has been instrumental for Bangladesh this series with 5 wickets for 83 runs which is a very good return for a bowler against India. He may of been average in the Test series but he has definitely made the spinner role his own this series, perhaps even becoming Bangladesh's number one spinner in the shorter format. Shafaq Al-Zabir concludes the bowling attack with his left arm bowling which has dazzled batsmen this year in One Day. The twenty year old has taken 10 wickets at 126 runs and could potentially become Bangladesh's new hope of finding a consistent seamer.

Bangladesh have 'destroyed' India so far this tour but I can't see them winning this. They have given so much of themselves against India so far that they have barely anything left in the tank. Can they produce one last glimpse of class with their last vial of effort? Who knows, it's in India's hands.

1. Virender Sehwag
2. Dheeraj Jadhav
3. Sachin Tendulkar
4. Rahul Dravid
5. VVS Laxman
6. Mahendra Singh Dhoni
7. Joginder Sharma
8. Harbhajan Singh
9. Anil Kumble
10. Siddharth Trivedi
11. Sandeep Maniar

India have gone for the same team as the last match, which failed to beat the Bangladesh lineup, but have replaced G. Singh with Trivedi. They have gone into the match with Trivedi most probably due to him averaging 20 in both FC and OD this year, which is promising for the Sub Continent side. Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh will need to be at their best today to give the batsmen their support, as India need a consolation win. Laxman and Sehwag have been terrific this season in ODI and with Tendulkar striking a century in the last match, could their time finally arrive? Well this team, I think, is much better than Bangladesh's side which is ridiculed with problems.

Pitch

The forecast for the match is blaring sun in the morning with a hint of cloud, but still sun, in the afternoon and evening. The bounce is average which won't really change the game at all. The wear is also average which means we will have an amazing battle between bowlers and batsmen today. The outfield is average as well which means we could see alot of boundaries, but we may not. The light is very good so we are bound to have yet another full day's play of sensational cricket. The pitch isn't giving much away to either player type, this will be fantastic!

Toss

Both the representatives of their sides have been out and shook hands. They then continued to look at the pitch and were both heard saying they would choose to bat first. They then did the toss, which was won by India. Mahendra Singh Dhoni decided to shock everyone watching, as after saying he would like to bat first, decided to bowl. Could this be the change of record that ends up gifting India their win? They have lost the series already but are playing for the pride of their proud supporters and their country. India. This is not going to be pretty.
