Sky Sports are offering the first 5 people to answer this question correctly rep points. Who is the cricketer?
Well it is the end of the first session and Australia are in a great position. Let's look at all the wickets which have fallen.
First to go was Strauss who was maybe slightly unlucky?
Well it was a nothing shot. Those deliveries on your legs should be certain fours and to spoon one up like that is unforgivable
Bell then went for a duck getting caught by Ponting. A pretty risky shot early on in the innings.
Yes. There was always a good chance he might edge it or do exactly what he did, and just not time it
Pietersen and Cook then built a solid partnership, and it was Pietersen who fell to a beautiful delivery which was just back of a length and just caught the edge
This was one of the dismissals which I think was due to good bowling. KP had not much time to react to the movement of the seam, and that was a crucial wicket for Australia
Alistair Cook then perished when he was caught out by the straight ball when trying to run it down to third man
Yes it was poor shot selection but it was a good delivery by Hogg
Finally Collingwood perished just before Lunch.
Yes once again poor shot selection. Trying to play a risky shot to early on.
So who do you think is going to win this match at this stage
Australia
Australia
I am afraid i am going to have to agree with you. So that is what the team think. Can Flintoff and the tail save England's first innings. Stay tuned to find out what happens.
Very soon after the lunch break the England tail collapsed. Andrew Flintoff will be disappointed that his team have put such a low score on he board after winning the toss.
Although the Australian bowlers did not bowl that many overs they picked up wickets quickly, with McGrath being the main strike man getting 4 wickets. Brad Hogg got 2 while Brett Lee was erratic but did 2 wickets. Stuart Clark kept it tight and was unlucky not to get a wicket.
The first wicket to fall in the second session was that of Matt Prior, when he was clean bowled by Hogg when, the ball kept very low.
Andrew Flintoff now batting with the tail played some very aggressive knocks before McGrath got him with the slow one resulting in a simple C&B.
A massive appeal against Harmison but snicko said there was no edge.
He didn't survive much longer when he was run out.
Australia quickly got the last few wickets. There was still a bit of time left in the session so the Australian batsmen returned having a tricky spell to survive. The England bowlers did not disapoint by getting the crucial wicket of Langer playing in his last ever Ashes.
So at the end of Session 2 on Day 1 Australia are 42/1
Harmison was expensive which is not what England needed, but Hoggard got the crucial wicket.
SHOT OF THE SESSION
A beautiful drive by Ricky Ponting
Sky Sports are still running guess the cricketer. Get your entry's in quickly. Will the England bowlers salvage something. Stay tuned to find out what happens.
Thats not enough score for England.. I feel that Aussies will get a huge lead Lets see  And regarding " guess the cricketer ", its Dwayne Leverock. You can make the image somewhat blurred and confuse the people to guess
Australia start the last session strongly but Monty turns it around.
Hayden and Ponting are going along nicely scoring regular boundaries and looking very positive.
In desperation Flintoff looks to the spin of Monty Pansar to get the breakthrough. And Monty performs his magic getting the wicket of Hayden and breaking the dangerous partnership that was developing.
Ponting then quickly follows 1 short of his half-century before Hussey is run out when trying to go for a quick single
So at the end of Day 1 England are all out for 201 and Australia are 163/4. If the England bowlers get two quick wickets or so this match will be perfectly poised. If Clarke and Hodge build a partneship England could be in big trouble.
Also this will be my last update before I go to Canada
