Okay imma be HUGELY distracted by the Triple J Hottest 100 and the pursuit of my prediction (four RUFUS songs in the top 25, not shabby atm)

Scorchers XI: 1 Kurtis Patterson, 2 Josh Inglis (wk), 3 Mitch Marsh, 4 Colin Munro, 5 Ashton Turner (capt.), 6 Laurie Evans, 7 Ashton Agar, 8 Jhye Richardson, 9 Andrew Tye, 10 Jason Behrendorff, 11 Peter Hatzoglou.

Scorchers X-factor Subs: Aaron Hardie, David Moody.

Sixers XI: 1 Josh Philippe (wk), 2 Justin Avendano, 3 Daniel Hughes, 4 Moises Henriques (capt.), 5 Jordan Silk, 6 Dan Christian, 7 Sean Abbott, 8 Hayden Kerr, 9 Ben Dwarshuis, 10 Nathan Lyon, 11 Stephen O'Keefe.

Sixers X-factors: Jackson Bird, Todd Murphy.

Evans in for Hardie for Perth, while I believe Sydney have lost James Vince but gained Jordan Silk from injury. Let's see how this goes

Jack Edwards, sorry, is out of the Sixers for COVID tracing reasons - brother and pace bowler Mickey registered an inconclusive RAT this morning.

BREAKING NEWS! Daniel Hughes stood on the rope during warmups and rolled his ankle badly! Henriques has talked to Turner and that there will be a replacement. Nick Bertus comes in for his BBL debut in a massive clash. Edwards' absence really hurting...

1.5: Inglis finds the rope! Flicks away Abbott from his pads to the backward square fence.

2.5: Patterson sends Lyon for four. Slammed through wide mid off.
2.6: And again! This time he goes back over Lyon's head with real power!

3.4: Drilled to the cover fence by Inglis! Lovely shot.

4.2: Is that out? Big LBW appeal from Dwarshuis but umpire unmoved. Fleming says out, Ponting says not, and that's kind of how that chance was. Yep, well outside leg.
4.3: Patterson with tonight's first donation to the cricket club! Straight and flicked 75 metres over square leg for six.

0/46 from 5, and dinner

0/94 at 10. I swear I've seen this before...

10.3: Patterson nearly takes the umpire with him on the way to tje boundary! Blistering shot.

11.5: Six over mid wicket and 50 for Inglis!

12.1: HAMMERED INTO THE SECOND TIER! Lovely by Patterson.
12.2: WICKET! Patterson's assault is over. He tries to hit another six and picks out long on. 1/120

13.3: Good start for Marsh! That's drilled to the cover fence.

14.5: That's a switch hit! Inglis changes his grip and whacks Kerr over third man! Four runs in a really creative way

1/138 from 15

Surge taken to start the 16th
15.2: They all count... big edge from Inglis beats Philippe and heads to the rope.
15.3: Up and over backward point! Four more for Inglis
15.6: Through mid wicket to the fence! Three boundaries in the over for Inglis

16.5: Lovely! Inglis just works the ball past Philippe and to the fence.

17.1: WICKET! Inglis's lovely innings finally ends. Runs down at SOK and misses. Philippe whips off the bails. 2/159
17.5: Dropped! Lyon puts down a tough chance at point, but he's holding his hand. Surely not more injury crises for the Sixers?

18.1: Marsh is brutal to the width of Abbott! flicked for four.
18.2: An exact replica of 17.5, and with a similar result! Bertus now has a sore finger. Doesn't look as bad as Lyon's though fortunately.
18.3: Gets through this time! The bowling wide plan isn't working.
18.4: Misfield from (checks notes) Jordan Silk? Marsh brutalises this one through extra cover, and Silk bobbles it out at extra cover, meaning it hits the rope.

19.3: Muscled over mid off by Munro! Four more.
19.5: WICKET! Marsh goes from the second last ball. Straight up in the air, mid off takes an easy catch, and Kerr adds another feather to his cap. 3/187
3/189 from 20. Perth looking in decent shape but Sydney are strong enough to chase it down if they play well. See you soon

0.2: Big appeal! Not given, but there's not a lot to say if there was a Philippe-saving edge on it or it was plumb LBW...
0.6: Philippe's been beaten five times, and indeed it takes an unconventional ramp from the sixth to avoid being so.

1.3: WICKET! A great start from Richardson and Behrendorff produces a reward for the latter! Avendano with a huge top edge and taken by Inglis. 1/5

2.3: WICKET! The Scorchers quicks are doing the business for them! Philippe pulls one that's only just too short to, and drags onto the stumps. Just okay on the front foot, and a big wicket falls. 2/8
Richardson does do one thing wrong - drops his cap and makes himself look silly. Goes off the field immediately, but it's to fix the tape on his shoe, not because of injury.

3.5: WICKET! Behrendorff induces the mistake from Silk with a beautiful piece of setup play! Glides directly to backward point. Sixers in a mess at 3/11

6.5: WICKET! Agar goes straight through debutant Bertus and bowls him! Inexperience showing in such a critical game. 4/21
6.6: Shot from Christian! Sends his first ball for six over mid wicket. Someone tries to catch it in the crowd but falls over the barriers in doing so.

4/27 from 7. Not a great start...

7.5: Aggression from Henriques! Goes back over Hatzoglou and gets four for his efforts.

8.1: WICKET! It's all going wrong. Christian picks out deep mid wicket. Munro's enthusiastic in his 'C' but otherwise doesn't really celebrate 5/33
The crowd have given a huge cheer, but it's not for the cricket as the Sixers flounder - instead, it's for the kid who fell over the barrier, who has returned from the management giving him a talking to with no other consequences. Common sense prevails

5/41 from 10, victory appears to be gone for Sydney, and the Scorchers will be thankful given the Marsh situation

10.2: WICKET! Richardson draws the nick from Henriques and caught by the keeper. 6/41
10.5: Hayden Kerr finds the fence with an exquisite square drive!
10.6: Dropped! Flashed at pointbut Patterson can't hang on. Bad miss but less awful in the context of the game.

Mitch Marsh has minor hamstring tightness and has been withdrawn from the fielding innings as a precaution. This is very good news.
11.4: Kerr is making a case for a promotion! Goes up and over cover, two bounces and over the rope.
11.6: WICKET! Abbott is run out with great fielding and a direct hit from Ashton Turner at mid on. Lovely. 7/55

12.2: Four for Dwarshuis! Whacks it through cow corner.
12.3: And again! This time smacked through extra cover.
12.6: DWARSHUIS GETS ALL OF THAT! Absolutely cracks it over the sightscreen for a monster six. 18 from the over, out of nowhere!

14.5: Strike from Kerr now! He puts Richardson away 92 metres over mid wicket! The Sydney all rounders are showing their talent when their top order's let them down.
7/87 from 15

15.5: Big top edge adds four more to Dwarshuis' score.

16.2: WICKET! A good partnership ends with a nick behind from Kerr. Tye into the wickets 8/96
16.4: WICKET! Lyon just here to have fun. His fun though is picked up in thd eep by Behrendorff at long on. 9/98

17.3: Dwarshuis is a secret weapon for the Sixers! That's been leathered 111 metres! Up into the top five sixes of the tournament it goes
17.4: Behrendorff is being blunted here! That goes through mid wicket for four this time. The slower ball isn't working for this new ball specialist.

18.1: Another six for the big quick! This time he sends Tye 95 metres just to the left of the sightscreen.
Aaron Hardie is on ball searching duties, as are some cleaners and associated fans who were outside. Interesting...
18.2: Nick to the fence for Dwarshuis, and he brings up an incredible fifty! This has been thoroughly entertaining and clean striking too.
18.3: LOOK OUT CROWD! He helicopters Tye's bouncer and sends it quite deep over mid wicket! Astonishing batting here
18.4: Now driven through cover! Four more!
18.6: Four more through cow! 24 from the over to give some cheer back to the Sixers' faithful!

19.2: WICKET! Haztoglou sends it wide and fast, and Dwarshuis can't get back in time. 140 all out. What an incredible knock from Dwarshuis though - I'll remember that longer than Inglis and Patterson or Richardson and Behrendorff. Perth lock in a finals appearance. Sydney have to win two from two now due to a massive collapse from their top order. Inglis MOTM. See you tomorrow, where the road ends for either the Thunder or the Strikers

Henriques should focus more on his batting and less on pretending to be a biomechanics expert. More practice, less "listening to some Spotify".

Strikers XI: 1 Alex Carey (wk), 2 Matt Short, 3 Ian Cockbain, 4 Travis Head, 5 Jonathan Wells, 6 Matthew Renshaw, 7 Thomas Kelly, 8 Henry Thornton, 9 Peter Siddle (capt.), 10 Harry Conway, 11 Fawad Ahmed.

Strikers X-factor Subs: Jake Weatherald, Daniel Worrall.

Thunder XI: 1 Alex Hales, 2 Usman Khawaja (capt.), 3 Matthew Gilkes (wk), 4 Jason Sangha, 5 Alex Ross, 6 Daniel Sams, 7 Ben Cutting, 8 Nathan McAndrew, 9 Chris Green, 10 Gurinder Sandhu, 11 Tanveer Sangha.

Thunder X-factor Subs: Oliver Davies, Brendan Doggett

No changes as far as I'm aware.

Who do you think is winning @ddrap14 ?
Thunder are stronger on paper, but Strikers have huge momentum. Hard to call.

1/42 from 5 while I was in the shower. Sams conceded 19 from an over, dropped a sitter, then took a contender for catch of the tournament to remove Alex Carey.

I should add in my reply to @wasteyouryouth - whoever wins this should beat a depleted and struggling Sixers team. 'Should'.

5.6: SIX! Straight down the ground from Short, and all the way!

7.6: Cockbain finally gets going! Slashes Sams over point to the fence.

8.3: Cockbain goes big! It's a bit of a top edge but it's up into the stands over fine leg and that's what matters.

1/86 from ten.
