There are five other teams bidding. It would be within the bounds of common sense to assume that at least one of them would bid vigorously for one of the remaining players. I placed bids, so that I could at least buy two of the remaining players. 'Fake bidding', as you put it, is when you bid without having any money to back it up. The obvious problem with it is that if you're one of the teams inflating the bids across the board and you end up winning more than the one or two bids that you were looking to win, you're not going to be able to pay up. You can rest assured that I'll be able to pay for any bid I make.
