Breaking News- Shoaib Malik Gets Pakistan Captaincy

Ugh. I hope its not Afridi. He's just so immature.
He doesn't deserve the job or a spot in the team IMO.

How can you say that? Nel is also very Immature. He talks and nothing is said to him. There is an aggressor in every team. When Afridi works with the bat, the game is ste for Pakistan. And his bowling is one of the best in the ODI arena.

what if Butt gets a chance in the team and prooves that he desreves a regular spot, maybe he could be the VC.

Problem is they will need a Vice Captain for their next match so they can't really wait for Butt to prove himself.

should have been mohammad yousuf he has more experience could have made malik vice captain but i see what they are trying to do have a captain who last for 3 to 5 years

its good news that he appointed as a captain but how much support we expect from another senior members bcoz most want to be captain except younis.

Mohammad Yousuf has already said that he doesn't care. Afridi didn't care before, and I doubt he will now. And as for Younis, well, I think he should just shut up.

Younis better do what the new Captain says now, he had his chance didnt accept so just shutup and get on with it.. i also firmly belive that Malik should do what he likes dont get bullied by seniors into making him do what they think

wont younis be vice? he was under inzi so he should now.

Nope. The whole point of a vice Captain is someone who would take over as Captain when the captain is not available. So When Malik retires the vice Captain should have enough training to be the new captain.

I like Malik as an ODI captain but i think he needs more experience in tests before captaincy (probably mentioned a hundred times already). As for vice-captaincy well i think they'll give it Kamran Akmal (keeper). Fairly experienced but i'm not sure he's a regular for the future because his batting has been patchy in england and SA (lol i admit i haven't followed much of pakistan cricket for past few years. Trying to be up to date now). Well thats my opinion, but im a bit outdated on pakistan...

Well I don't know much about Pakistani cricket, but Nasser Hussain said in his book that he thinks that Vice Captain and Captain are very different jobs. For example Trescothick was vice captain under Hussain, because he was loyal, but Vaughan got the captaincy because he was more ruthless.

loyal lol!! Ok.... So are we saying Kamran Akmal is loyal... man he aint good enough for the VC job, i would say give it to Razzaq or Afridi

Yes the his captaincy in the 20/20 cup was spletacular. He led what would be the weakest side in the competition to the finals. He seemed to know what time he had to come in, and what time he had to bowl. Looked a lot more responsible and I thought that if he had been available for the last match, Karachi would have won.
