Agreed on that point for sure. An Afghan and a Nepali being two of the best bowlers in the world, who would ever have thought it?

Not to mention Rashid Khan and Nabi. And Ali Khan.
Didn't do much good, Tridents won comfortably.

But some talent on show. We have Danny Briggs to look forward to when the Blast starts.

Yeah, Jamaica haven't gotten off to a good start this year despite their team being composed of good players. Maybe Gayle was right when he mentioned things behind the scenes not being all that?[DOUBLEPOST=1598494705][/DOUBLEPOST]To be honest, I know we won against them today, but this might just be the year for St Lucia to go far. Not to win, of course, that's for TKR...but they are playing very well and have a squad that has potential.

Do not worry, it is the first step on a path to CPL glory. ;)
Till the time he plays IPL, no way BCCI will allow him for other T20 Leagues around the world.

And Mr. IPL will prefer IPL over other T20 Leagues for sure

I think after the IPL and Big Bash, perhaps the next most popular league is the CPL. My opinion only, of course. The BCCI essentially runs world cricket but I personally would love to see guys like Dhoni and Raina playing alongside our upcoming prospects. I mean, can you imagine Dhoni keeping to a guy like Hayden Walsh? Or Raina facing up to a lightning fast Oshane Thomas?

Unfortunately, not happening.

Big Bash is an even better T20 League, Indians are not even allowed there

I am really unsure of the latter, given that they have recently lost overseas pros to the Bangladeshi league and don't have their own domestic stars playing in the league. The quality of play in the extended format these days is terrible too.

Okay I agree, Big Bash lost its charm, everything else stays

Ironic that yesterday Tambe made history being the first indian to play CPL

and he isnt allowed to play IPL anymore

So you see where I am getting at

I have to disagree. IPL > PSL > BBL/CPL
With the PSL coming back to Pakistan, it is definitely the second biggest league now.
Although CPL does have a good window, in which only England and maybe SL or Bangladesh play international cricket.

I think PSL has still got a long way to go. They probably need more franchises and need to spend more on their promotion a bit. Big Bash is still ahead of PSL in my view. It is like IPL > BBL > PSL > BPL/CPL/T20 Blast

I like the PSL but I can't say that it's up there in terms of entertainment quality. I still think the IPL is number 1 and the Big Bash at 2.

For practically inventing the damn thing, the Blast is pretty low down for me.

And to get back on topic with Bravo, I think one of his breakout T20 performances was in the first edition of the Champion's League in 2009, where he had 8 runs to defend in the final over. And he did it beautifully. I remember that match quite well, I was still at school, at our south hospital, the nurses had the match on the radio. I dare say I took my time labeling forms in order to listen to the end of the match.

That tournament was also the beginning of Pollard when he made that 17 ball 50.

and that technically made him the richest buy in IPL

yes, though not official, there was a secret bid by four teams for Pollard and it is said that Mumbai bid extemely high, which no player has received in IPL history

I remember Pollard's breakthrough performance too, I was genuinely stunned at someone smacking the ball so effortlessly. Where others had to also play each ball to it's strength, Pollard would just send it into orbit like it was the easiest task in the world.

See where you're coming from but I think the PSL lacks some of that entertainment value that's there in the in the BBL and IPL. The BBL has a really good entertainment core with some quality cricket, but CA messed up last season with having too many games which resulted in fewer crowds while coming to the end of the tournament.

The PSL is still a fairly new league compared to the others, and the PSL is definitely gonna become bigger and better as a T20 league while it will be based in Pakistan for the next few years. Holding in the UAE didn't fulfill the leagues full potential and attract a whole lot of fans to watch the games as it did in Pak.
