Catching Ring Colours.

I am colour blind (especially with reds & greens) and find the catching very difficult due to the colours of the circle. Does anyone know of a mod to change the colour with perhaps blue for the ideal catching circle?

No, but I think it'd be a good idea, as well as being a help to you. I find that the green colour blends in with the sky a bit when trying to catch steeplers (orange does a bit as well). I'd imagine it'd be among one of the simpler mods? Maybe two versions could be made: one to help out NelsonBis and one that changes the shades of the colours a bit to stop them blending in with the sky (or the ground).

Yeah very true catch is the most annoying thing in this game and there should be something to handle that accordingly!

I would actually like the bowler colour rings to remain the same colour, unless you're playing on easy/normal.

Yes MasterBlaster I think you are right, there is nothing wrong with the bowling ring and I think garish colours would not look right on the wicket. But man I just lost another game due to dropping catch after catch because I can't tell my red's from my greens:doh. If only the green ring could be swapped for blue or even black, it's so frustrating.

You have to do what I do, just sort of guess. Once it goes into 'catch mode' just give it a sec and then press.

Sorry, what I meant was I'd prefer if the bowling ring didn't change colour to indicate where you were going to pitch the ball - it smacks of a training aid to me, that we should be able to turn off.

I quiite like the green colour. It is easy to see than blue or any other colour that is why it is used in traffic lights, lol.

Some times it is diffilcult to see in the game to replicate the real game catches IMO. Some catches are more difficult than others.

I thinnk the catching is one of the best feature of the game, well done Codemasters and Transmission. I love to catch and hate when I drop one like real game.

There will hopefully be one once graphics patches can be released for the game.

The problem is tracking down the required texture (if it even uses one) as it might well be a 1x1 pixel texture.

I agree with you that the catching is a good feature of the game, it adds a bit of tension to it. But as Vijayanand says Its not the physics of the catching its being able to differentiate between the colours. According to Wikipedia 7-10% of males are red/green colour blind (a large ammount).
Traffic lights are easy to tell even if they were all the same colour its just top, middle & bottom.
By the way is the cycle of the rings 'Orange-Green-Red' or 'Red-Orange-Green-Orange-Red' or something else?

It's red orange green red I think, not sure about the first red.
