Derbyshire 1st Innings - 245 all out

M Di Venuto 49
C Reynolds 32

A Kumble 6-75

The rest of the first day I sat fully padded up, nervous even though I was batting at number 6, I was a little disappointed I didn?t get to bat at my preferred number 4 but I guess ill have to earn that right.

The next day I came in at 4 for 106 early in the morning and had to face my first ball against James Ormond it was a bouncer and James said to me ?Welcome to cricket, boy?. Next ball I nicked the ball through the slips and it went to the boundary and as I ran by Ormond he was furious at the missed opportunity and didn?t like the giant smile on my face as I ran by. Chris Taylor and I built a solid partnership until Anil Kumble came to bowl and he had me out first ball, which was caught by none other than James Ormond who returned to the pitch with an even bigger smile than the one I gave him. I was frustrated at getting out on 32 after making a solid start but I was met with applause from the boys when I reached the pavilion and it turned out to be the 2nd highest score in our total. Kumble went on to destroy the tail but we still had a good lead heading into the 2nd Innings.

Below: Anil Kumble's appeal is accepted on his way to 6-75

Dude, you have to be patient, because IF you're updating every hour, readers will lose interest. To get interest, use the Uploading Image Tutorial that Suren posted, trust me when I say Suren knows about stories :D . Also, try using different fonts/colors/sizes to enhance your work.

Surrey 2nd Innings - 232 all out

J Batty 70
R Clarke 40

P Jones 4-60

Steffan took control getting Ramprakash and Butcher out for low scores we controlled them and were unlucky with a few chances which we just wide of a fielder. I was in some good form in the field making a few good stops but all in all the team effort got us a small target of 196. Kevin Dean chipped in with another 3 wickets and I still didn?t get an opportunity at a catch.

Below: Jonathan Batty on his way to a 2nd consecutive 50

Derbyshire 2nd Innings - 200 for 3

S Stubbings 65
M Di Venuto 39

A Kumble 2-46

We won the game quite easily in the end with the openers getting roughly about half the total in the first partnership. Jamie ?Mario? Pipe told me that an English selector was in attendance and he was looking at me I was excited only to find out that the English ?selector they got me hyped about for up to an hour was the old grandmother sitting on the hill. I was quite happy in the end that I didn?t get to bat I had a quite game but it was out of my control. Travis ?Ernie? Birt hit the winning runs with a four straight over the bowler?s head. We celebrated down the pub but being the new boy guess who had to shout the team and coaches? ME!!!

Derbyshire beat Surrey by 7 wickets

Below: Travis Birt guided Derbyshire to victory
