Lyon vs Liverpool

Today is my first game in charge of Lyon and its massive. Its our 5th game in Group H of the Champions League and the top 2 go through to the knockout stages, if we win we'll probably top the group and win a tie against someone who finished 2nd in theirs, or if we lose we'll probably finish second and then we'll have to play a team who topped their group.
Club captain Cris was out with a long term knee injury, first choice 'keeper Gregory Coupet was out also with a knee injury, but is expected back soon.
I went for what I think is the strongest side available to me, a side in which I believe can cause Liverpool problems..

LYON 1-1 LIVERPOOL

We kicked off the game t the huge cheers of the French fans. I had never heard anything like it, and just 3 minutes in we were inches away from taking the lead. A long Jose Reina ball was headed back by Juninho, Keita used his rapid speed to set himself free on goal, he shot was terrifically saved by Reina and Toulalan's rebound smashed the post. A great start for us, and we kept it up and on 9 m inutes we got the reward, Anderson passed to Benzema who layed it off for Toulalan who played a delightful ball over Jamie Carragher's head and Keita was far too quick for Carragher and Keita bore down on goal and rounded Reina to score the first goal of my reign. What a player Kader Keita is. After the goal we decided to sit back a bit, which didn't really work for us as we were inviting pressure and on 17 minutes, we buckled. A great long ball from John-Arne Riise found Gerrard, he crossed for Dirk Kuyt to head home. Game on, and a superbly worked goal from Liverpool. After this we decided to revert back to our more familiar attacking style at high-tempo and we were knocking it about superbly creating triangles all over the pitch and Juninho was running the show in the midfield along with Toulalan and Kallstrom and we knew it wouldn't be long before our next chance. We carried this attacking on, but we could not find an opening in teh Liverpool defence so we went in at half time honours even. It had been a good half for us and we looked really good in possession, we just needed to keep it up in the second half.
The second half started at quite a slow tempo, and we found ourselves getting caught in possession a couple of times si I decided a change was necessary on 68 minutes, so I brought on Vailatti and Bodmer on for Kallstrom and Benzema. Straight after the subs were made we thought we'd taken the lead for the second time in the match, Toulalan was brought down by Riise on teh right and he recieved a yellow card for his troubles, and Toulalan got up to take the set piece himself, he whipped it in adn Squillaci headed home only for it to be disallowed for a push. Wth things still deadlocked at 1-1, I decided to make my final change, bringing Sidney Govou to the field in place of Fred. Nothing much happened for the rest of the game and it was a disappointing result for us, as we so nearly got the winner from a Squillaci header, which the ref disallowed for some unknown reason. Everyone had played well, but the Man of the Match was Liverpool 'keeper Pepe Reina, proving we had attacked and attacked.

A good result against L'Pool. Looking good up top with Keita, Fred and Benzema. Should be able to make the semi's I reckon...

Right, back from footie training about 20 mins ago and the sig I have on took me about 20 mins, and at 8pm I'll start my update and it should be up by 8:45pm!

I could get you a better one if you like but I feel you should keep that, start making full time GFX mate, KUTGW on the sig.
