I can confirm there will be a patch for Brian Lara International Cricket 2007 for PC, and an auto-update for the Xbox 360 version, available in the coming weeks.

Specific details on content and timings on both will follow once we have investigated gameplay changes; the auto-update will include a fix to the Xbox Live issue that some users have been experiencing.

Keep watching the forum for more details on the patch and auto-update - as soon as I have confirmed news I'll pass it on.

Do you reckon the Auto-Update will have the same features as the PC patch?

This is indeed good news and shows while Codemasters might not be perfect they do at least try (and in reality this is all you can ask of anyone).

Shame on everyone who ranted and raved about Codemasters taking peoples money and running.

Great news. :) cant wait to know what this patch will fix.

Excellent news and it shows Codies are willing to make their game even better.
I personally hope the major bugs are fixed but I would also like to see minor things such as the wicket keeper always hitting stumps being fixed.
:)

Too damn right.

I think they thought that they knew better than us in that first forum day, however, and didn't implement anything we suggested thinking it would only matter to a few hardcore gamers. Now everyone is complaining about things like the ball bouncing too high, losing confidence for leaving, etc. so hopefully they will now see that the things that affect the hardcore fan also affect a lot of other people.

Colin and I sent a joint email on Rubbergenius' request for things which needed changing about the game. Peer seemed pretty keen to find out what we thought, and most of those things were what everyone else was thinking too. Hopefully we should see the majority of the big problems fixed by this patch.

I do now hold out a bit of hope for this game.

I was wondering is a auto update the same as a patch for the pc. I have patched a PC game before but unsure how this would work for an Xbox 360?

I assume so yes.

Further Update From Rubbergenius on the Official Forums:

Just to reiterate so we all know...

- As soon as I can release confirmed news I will do - I won't hold on any news when I can talk about it

- Please be aware of the time scales - I did say 'weeks' in that first post for a reason, as Auto-Updates do take a while to do, due to MS submission times. We aren't being lazy, we aren't being arrogant, we're not ignoring you etc etc - it takes this long. PC should be quicker, but as I said, I haven't any confirmed times yet as we have to make sure everything that works now still works with the patch/update first.

- Yes, we're investigating gameplay changes - more news on this and on the content of the patch/auto-update nearer launch.

- Any other questions let me know - I probably can't answer them all at present simply because of what I mentioned above - but again, that's not me being ignorant, usually just because I can't talk about it or, unfortunately, because I'm busy and can't get to the forum.

Some of the things we are wanting require a complete AI overhaul. Can't see that coming in a simple patch.

I tell you what, why dont you at least wait and see what the patch achieves before slagging it down.

Not 'slagging it down'.

I'm merely stating my expectations. They've had months and months to create a game engine. It seems silly to think that it'll suddenly be massively improved in a few weeks. If it is then I'll happily eat my own words as I'm planning to buy the game tomorrow...largely for online.

I would just sound a warning note as people will inevitably not be satisfied with any patch Codies produce.
I hope they look properly at the issues submitted and not just fix some of the lesser problems.
