Commentary Thread

Hey, at last someone else. I felt I was talking to a brick wall. Anyway:
********************************************************
Update:
End of Over 25: 138-0, runrate=5.52
Browne 6-0-37-0
Mapes* 56 (91 balls)
Hume 76 (62 balls)

Good batting so far. Good runrate and no wickets lost. The openers seem to be complementing each other quite nicely. I set Mapes to Defensive and Hume to Attacking. All the good work due to my tactics ;).

******************************************************
Update: Uh oh! The first wicket falls. Thankfully it's Mapes:
29.3 W Rowson to Mapes
Must be LBW. Must be LBW! MUST BE LBW! It's carnival time for Rowson
Anyway, he did his job which was to see off the opening bowlers and give the team a good foundation.

And Hoult hits a 6 off his first ball!
End of Over 30: 164-1, runrate=5.47
Rowson 5-1-15-1
Hume* 86 (69 balls)
Hoult 6 (3 balls)

*******************************************************
Update:
33.6 6 Ali to Hume
Half volley by Ali and Hume gives it the full treatment. That is a HUGE six that almost hits the TV blimp hovering overhead. Oh the humanity!
And that's a century for Hume! Well played indeed Sir!
Great knock, what a way to bring up your century!!

End of Over 35: 199-1, runrate=5.69
Rowson 6-1-19-1
Hoult* 24 (20 balls)
Hume 101 (83 balls)

*******************************************************
Update:
End of Over 40: 235-1, runrate=5.88
Ali 10-0-82-0
Hume* 128 (100 balls)
Hoult 32 (33 balls)

Great batting by my team! 300 is the absolute minimum from here. Hopefully, my bowlers should do their bit as well.

Wicket!
44.3 W Forbes to Hume
The only thing that that ball was missing was the bat
Hume out for 144 from 112 balls. An excellent, perhaps matchwinning, innings from the great man.

*********************************************************
Update
End of Over 50: 318-2, runrate=6.36
Oneil 10-1-53-0
Hoult* 71 (62 balls)
Holme 24 (18 balls)

An excellent batting performance by my players. I'll cry, no weep, if I lose from here.

Could this be the end of the Briggs unbeaten run?

In other news, I made 260 all out in my 1st innings v Borncricketers XI in the Shield

I really need to get Ainsworth out early. It could still be a close match.

********************************************************
Update:
End of Over 10: 57-1, runrate=5.70, reqrunrate=6.55 (318-2)
Scholes 5-0-27-1
Hildred* 16 (11 balls)
Ainsworth 17 (28 balls)

The game is not over yet. My pacemen have done a half decent job. Now its up to the likes of Leighton and Matthews to put a lid on the scoring rate.

*********************************************************
Update:
End of Over 15: 95-1, runrate=6.33, reqrunrate=6.40 (318-2)
Matthews 1-0-7-0
Ainsworth* 45 (45 balls)
Hildred 26 (24 balls)

I'm scared as hell now!! They have a very good chance of winning the game. Come on bowlers, restrict. I don't care if they don't pick up wickets. Just make the RRR over 7.5 and I'll be a happy man. Now, I'm angrier than Stuart Pearce in a Machester derby.

***************************************************
Update:
End of Over 19: 123-1, runrate=6.47, reqrunrate=6.32 (318-2)
Matthews 3-0-20-0
Ainsworth* 56 (58 balls)
Hildred 41 (35 balls)

OMG!! This is too tense for me!

Is there anyone else around? What do you think about the game?

******************************************************
Update:
End of Over 25: 151-1, runrate=6.04, reqrunrate=6.72 (318-2)
Matthews 6-0-38-0
Hildred* 54 (56 balls)
Ainsworth 68 (74 balls)

Half way through. The game could go either way. Is nobody else around???

I am watching this match as a lot of my vcash is at stake.
Here is 25 over update for proof

End of Over 25: 151-1, runrate=6.04, reqrunrate=6.72 (318-2)
Matthews 6-0-38-0
Hildred* 54 (56 balls)
Ainsworth 68 (74 balls)

Last Wicket: Ali c. Burnip b. Scholes 22 (FOW: 30/1)

So far Ainsworth is looking good i am hoping he will guide Briggs XI to a win.

HAHA we posted at same time

My own match have also started a friendly with TT Lions at Lions Stand.
Update
TT Lions won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

EDIT: First run and Four
1.1 4 Binns to Mahmood
Timed to perfection. You don?t need to run for those.

Wish I was as optimistic as you, Spin, or should I say Chez ;).

End of Over 30: 178-1, runrate=5.93, reqrunrate=7.05 (318-2)
Hoult 5-0-25-0
Ainsworth* 77 (86 balls)
Hildred 71 (75 balls)

If they go at six an over from 30-40, then with atleast 7 wickets in hand they can hit 80 off the last ten. I would be quite pleased if I was Briggs at this stage.

30.6 W Matthews to Ainsworth
And that's out! Ainsworth goes for the late cut but merely guides the ball into the waiting hands of Barker at gully.
Wooohooooooo! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

I think they r picking up runrate. Hoult was gone for 12 runs in last over.

EDIT: I am late again that is big blow for Briggs XI

I still think this is in the bag for you. Unless your bowlers turn into randomly bad bowlers! :p

Briggs will be sitting worrying. Of course, not watching the match. Hes at work, oblivious to the action!

Don't say it! 10 runs of the last over.

I wonder what happened to Thatcher. Briggs bought him for ?700,000 and he isn't even playing in the match.

33.5 W Leighton to Forbes
The spin completely beat him and he gifts Burnip a simple catch behind!
One more bites the dust!

******************************************************
Update:

End of Over 35: 206-3, runrate=5.89, reqrunrate=7.53 (318-2)
Hoult 6-0-28-0
Stamp* 1 (4 balls)
Hildred 89 (93 balls)

I am probably the favourite, but still anything can happen.

5 over Update
End of Over 5: 29-0, runrate=5.80
Leonard 3-0-12-0
Mahmood* 10 (11 balls)
Sikander 12 (22 balls)

Looking good so far.

That is really bad

I think he only have good secondries.

Yeah, but why did he pay so much for him if he's not going to play. To give you a comparison, I bough Josh Hume 3 weeks ago for ?600,000. Since then he has hit 3 centuries in 4 games, and all of them have been big 100s.

Required runrate over 8 it looks i will lose lot of vcash

Yeah he got a century today too if i am not wrong. I think briggesy should have played him. Or he might not wanted to change his winning XI for this important match. Or he might have forgoten to give orders
Update
End of Over 10: 50-0, runrate=5.00
Binns 5-0-24-0
Mahmood* 19 (23 balls)
Sikander 24 (40 balls)

My team is looking good a perfect starts to the innings
