First wicket falls and its Ahmed with it!
1.3 W Ahmed to Govender
Govender is not happy with that. Everything was wrong. It pitched outside leg and he got an inside edge, but the umpire's given him out. He might get a fine for waiting so long before walking off.
And another
2.1 W Burdett to Rampaul
Rampaul advances down the ground and wallops it towards the long on boundary. Great take by Ali though!

I got 233 allout after exactly 50 overs batting first. Fairly pleased with that :) Crouch 72* off 74 balls, Rudi 57, Giddings 45, and decent cameos from the rest. Dlomo got just 1/28 suprisingly, leading wicketaker being Mampe with 4/64. Sunny day, so this should be interesting. Both Eli and Abdeen playing, Abdeen scoring 17.

They are now 11/0 after 2 overs, and I gtg.

Eli got a golden duck

Dlmomo's 1-28 was off 10 overs, restricting to be positive.

i was hoping id get you cheaper than that, with dlomo wiping out the middle order, tried to hide away challis (only proficient) at the end, didn't quite work out but mampe saved the day.

its finely balanced still, got off to a good start

21-0 off 4 overs

Damn early wicket for Fighting Mongooses

Code:
4.5 W	Miah to Malloy
[COLOR=Red]That's beaten him all ends up and takes out middle and off[/COLOR]
At least he's one of my worst batsmen, so hopefully others can come in and bat well.

The situation is...

Code:
End of Over 5: 19-1, runrate=3.80, reqrunrate=6.71 (320-3)
Miah	3-0-14-1
Collins*	14 (14 balls)
Cullingford	0 (1 balls)
Last Wicket: Malloy b. Miah 3 (FOW: 19/1)
I need to up the rate a bit.

This is quite hurrendous/ridiclious!
End of Over 11: 82-2, runrate=7.45, reqrunrate=5.23 (285-8)
Ali 1-0-12-0
Mohammed* 21 (24 balls)
Westcarr 54 (37 balls)

Last Wicket: Rampaul c. Ali b. Burdett 2 (FOW: 16/2)
Yes! Get out of here, he was starting to become quite a pain!
11.5 W Bignot to Westcarr
Tossed up outside off stump, the ball lands, spins the other way, and Westcarr can only get half-forward and poke at it with an open faced bat. Midworth leaps, cat-like, to take a superb catch behind the stumps.

I lost another wicket, this time Cullingford going for 7

Code:
8.4 W	Miah to Cullingford
[COLOR=Red]Edged off the end of the bat and it's Christmas come early for Cloete[/COLOR].

But I've recovered quite well so far, we need to lower the RRR.

Code:
End of Over 13: 62-2, runrate=4.77, reqrunrate=7.00 (320-3)
Miah	7-0-39-2
Collins*	35 (38 balls)
Fisher	14 (15 balls)
Last Wicket: Cullingford c. Cloete b. Miah 7 (FOW: 37/2)

End of Over 17: 94-2, runrate=5.53, reqrunrate=5.61 (278-6)
Alcock 2-0-16-0
East* 44 (42 balls)
Trench 10 (14 balls)
Last Wicket: Marsden Run Out 7 (FOW: 76/2)

Should be a close match coming up here. My main man has been run out, so it's up to these two...

Way things are going were going to loose this one, bowling has been pathetic at best.
End of Over 27: 162-3, runrate=6.00, reqrunrate=5.39 (285-8)
Gillman 4-0-21-0
Devaney* 40 (52 balls)
Mohammed 56 (68 balls)

Last Wicket: Westcarr c. Midworth b. Bignot 54 (FOW: 83/3)

Fisher got out lbw for 16
Code:
15.3 W	Menzies to Fisher
Out!!! Fisher was struck right in front of all three. If he was fixing a leaky pipe he couldn't have been plumber!

Collins reached his 50 by hitting a big 6...

Code:
17.1 6	Menzies to Collins
[COLOR=Red]Unbelievable shot! Absolutely massive! Collins charges down the track to a fullish ball outside off stump, turns it into a half volley, smashes it a country mile over long off, up into the stand.
And that's his fifty! Well played.[/COLOR]

But then got out in a messy run out:(

Code:
18.6 W	Cable to Collins
[COLOR=Red]Yes. No. Yes. No. Wait. No. Yes. Wait. Yes......NO!!! That had run out written all over it there and Collins glares back at his teammate as he trudges off the ground.[/COLOR]

Then 2 overs later. Bellwood departed for 1.

Code:
20.1 W	Cable to Bellwood
[COLOR=Red]And it's been caught! Marvellous fielding there, absolutely marvellous![/COLOR]

Then Fu and Crabb put a bit of a partnership togther, before now, Fu is out LBW for 25

Code:
27.1 W	Moodley to Fu
[COLOR=Red]Absolutely plumb! By the time the bowler looked back to the umpire, the finger was already up.[/COLOR]

Arghh...two balls later, Lakshika is gone for a 2nd ball duck :mad

Code:
27.3 W	Moodley to Lakshika
[COLOR=Red]Moodley bolted that straight past Lakshika and split the middle stump in half. Lakshika is walking back while the groundsman comes out to replace the broken wicket.[/COLOR]

So basically, after an almighty collapse from 75/2 to 134/7. I'm out of the game completely.

Code:
End of Over 28: 134-7, runrate=4.79, reqrunrate=8.50 (320-3)
Moodley	4-2-15-2
Crabb*	20 (32 balls)
Hodge	0 (3 balls)
Last Wicket: Lakshika b. Moodley 0 (FOW: 134/7)

Slighty better, Ahmed bowled a maiden for his final over and Biggie and Ali are keeping them down to 2 and 3 an over, if they can keep it like this for their final spells they will need about 80 from the final 10. A couple of quick wickets and im into his tail so hopefully ill get that in this spell.
End of Over 32: 176-3, runrate=5.50, reqrunrate=6.11 (285-8)
Bignot 6-0-18-1
Mohammed* 61 (91 balls)
Devaney 49 (59 balls)

Last Wicket: Westcarr c. Midworth b. Bignot 54 (FOW: 83/3)

End of Over 33: 175-3, runrate=5.30, reqrunrate=6.12 (278-6)
Alcock 10-0-55-0
Afridi* 19 (20 balls)
East 89 (86 balls)

GN seems to be running away with this one. Sadly, this is a team I had bowled out for 134 previously.

Thats the one! Mohammed the opener has gone, really impressive bowling from him and Ali now, they have brought it back for us.
35.5 W Bignot to Mohammed
What a cracking ball. Mohammed couldn't do much about that one.
End of Over 36: 183-4, runrate=5.08, reqrunrate=7.36 (285-8)
Bignot 8-0-23-2
Devaney* 50 (64 balls)
Gurney 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Mohammed b. Bignot 67 (FOW: 183/4)
And another for him, great stuff.
37.2 W Bignot to Devaney
HOWZAT! The umpire takes a while to think about it, and raises his finger! OUT.
Final 10, 84 to win, 5 wickets in hand. Biggie finishes with brilliant figures again.
End of Over 40: 202-5, runrate=5.05, reqrunrate=8.40 (285-8)
Bignot 10-0-29-3
Gurney* 6 (10 balls)
Malik 7 (9 balls)

Last Wicket: Devaney lbw b. Bignot 56 (FOW: 192/5)
God, Burdett and Gillman are really having a stinker, they've both gone for 11 in their comeback overs and look like losing us the game now! :mad
End of Over 42: 224-5, runrate=5.33, reqrunrate=7.75 (285-8)
Gillman 6-0-36-0
Gurney* 22 (17 balls)
Malik 13 (14 balls)

Last Wicket: Devaney lbw b. Bignot 56 (FOW: 192/5)
Phew!
42.3 W Burdett to Malik
That's OUT! Smashed straight down the pitch by Malik, hits Burdett on the foot and pops up for an easy catch!
42.6 W Burdett to Baines
What a horrible decision from Baines, he's not offered a shot to that one and it struck him on the front pad. Midworth tells him where to go... back to the pavillion!
43.5 W Gillman to Mohammed
Mohammed hammers that one, but Ahmed foils him and takes a great catch deep on the boundary.

The Palab Tigers manage to sneak a win as the opposition collapses from 225/3 to 236/10 in the final overs. That's Battrick for you.

But, the match was uncomfortably close. I still don't know why my bowlers gave up so many runs after their peformance in the last game that we played.
