Does it happen in any other games? Just post your computer specs here so we can have a look

evenif i also faced that problem, after playing 3 to 4 matches game will close automatically.

i m using NVIDIA GForce

GeForce what? That covers about 24357 different graphics cards

I am inclined to believe that Steiwan's problem is not based on the graphics card but on the power supply.

Steiwan are you running a lot of peripherals like printers, scanners and cd-writers on your machine ? If so, maybe your power supply is not 'strong' enough to support all these devices. Try and switch off a couple of devices and then try to play the game.

Do you have this shutting down problem whilst playing only Cricket 2004 or during other games/applications too ?

p4 3.2 ghz
1024 mg of ram
ati radeon pro 9800

never happens with anything other program and im not running any peripherals at all. the game was running fine for quite a while, and the prob just started happening all of a sudden, ive also tried reinstalling.

but i can run games like far-cry, which is very graphics card and processor dependant for hours and it doesnt overheat!

i reckon it may be to do with the patches, ive reinstalled and am playing the original disc gob files and it seems fine! its really strange, perhaps i installed a series of differant patches which werent compatible. can someone tell the most useful patch to install in order, so i can try em one at a time?

thx for all yer input guys,

ste

Patches shouldn't be causing any problems at all, but did this start when you first installed one?

ok if u want a useful patch install tutsi 5.4. but i think this is not due to the patches b/c i installed every patch of this site and never get this problem which u have facing

And obviously, the patches can't be responsible for a COMPLETE computer shutdown.

That would be quite heavy on an outdated power supply. Try and get it checked/changed. And no, power supply does NOT mean the UPS
